The new MLS stadium in St. Louis will be 100% private money.

We learned our lesson.

The Eads Bridge in St. Louis was completed in Eighteen Seventy Four (1874) ... there was water under it.

Back then everyone in St. Louis understood what "water under the bridge" meant.

I will let you in on a secret ... the Rams in St. Louis is like water under the bridge ... they're not coming back.

The NFL is never coming back: end of story.

Stan went low and we're going to repay the favor. It's just business.

it is spilled milk ... PSL holders will get the unused portion of their monies paid to the Rams, and all will be cleaned up.

Go Saint Louis Soccer Team ... may Anthony Pulis be the Sean McVay of professional soccer.

Repayment of funds for Rams related events that never happened sounds appropriate.

The shadiness factor in StL can't be forgotten either.
Both parties flexed their muscles publicly.
Still amazed / glad StL blew their end of the deal so the Rams got their escape out. Poorly played by StL and this could easily end up a wash, , , especially if the court venue is moved.

That's all I'm looking for. I'm not under any delusion they move the Rams back, award us an expansion team or give us a billion dollars in damages. Just pay the $20 million+ for the dog and pony stuff. Give Rams Park to a charity.

Internet tough guy alert! The ironic thing is you don't understand that your saying "Stan went low and we're going to repay the favor" and "It's just business" as conflicting one another. But you guys never did understand the business side of this.

Yep, that's the game. "Just recompense us for the $20+ million .."

".. oh and donate Rams Park to a charity .."

Tomorrow it'll be something else

Yep. StL could have made it tremendously difficult if they understood the process and what they were up against, and how to counter it .. but ole Kitty and co never did.

Stan bought the team for $550M.
Before moving it to L.A., it was estimated to be worth $1.45B.
It is now estimated to be worth $3.8B.

So, its safe to say, Stan is playing with "house money" here. If he feels like he has a principle to defend, he can certainly afford to do so.

That does not mean that your suggestion is necessarily wrong. Perhaps Stan should just pay the money and make some goodwill gestures to the city of St. Louis.

But, in the end, its business, and... more specifically, its his business.

All fair points. And like I said before Stan could pay from his petty cash fund without even blinking.

St. Louis has nothing to lose by continuing to push and to try and get this into open court or settled.
