I'm sticking with my theory that since Les and the coaches didn't make the Sr. Bowl this year, they're not as reliant on it for scouting.

Or maybe the Sr. Bowl angle is played, or just normal variation from year to year...

didn't realize it was your theory, but it makes sense to me, in fact i wouldn't want to hear/know that my team's draft decisions were based heavily on senior bowl performance, yikes.

The upside to the Sr Bowl is watching guys compete agains higher level talent with NFL coaching and schemes. Certainly doesn't trump a few years worth of scouting. Just another tool. Rams have been great lately at identifying and developing scheme-fit talent. And let's face it, our main staff and schemes should be around for a while

Last two years we've drafted heavily from the Sr. Bowl, this year almost not at all...

Also, we don’t necessarily need starters so can develop younger players.

i see what you're saying, i was referring to basing draft decisions heavily on sb performance, which i would think would be unlikely, i mean how many snaps do these guys play in the game? seems that scouting beyond the sb, film, and interviews would far outweigh sb performance? but the sb is no doubt a great opportunity to personally meet and watch a bunch of prospects in one place for a few days... as far as who teams actually take, seniors or juniors, seems like the board has a lot to say about it, for example would the rams have taken noteboom had kolton miller been available?

Exactly. It's not the game, it's the week of workouts, interviews and a chance for the coaches and scouts to really get a good sense of the players.

It's become a punchline how much Snead has drafted SB players the last two years and i wondered if that would change with the Rams playing in the Super Bowl and not sending their coaches and Snead to the Senior Bowl this year.

It's definitely different this year but whether that's why, well who can say for sure...

What's up with Te'Von Coney? LB ranked fairly high in some pubs but still on the board?

Go Notre Dame with the last two. Coney and Mack.

Could Jalen Jelks be our next pick if he drops?

Great concert break here. I didn’t realize the draft was gonna be so fun.

Wish I went.
