Yep and honestly just very curious how the round 1 plays out, which QB's go where, who falls etc. Rams could always trade out of the first round, I dont think any of us would be surpised (could trade up too lol).

Matthew Stafford will once again be the Los Angeles Rams’ starting quarterback in 2024 but as he nears the end of his career, there isn’t a succession plan at the most important position in sports. The team hoped Stetson Bennett could become a future starter when he was drafted in Round 4 last year, but after spending the season on the NFI list, his future is in question.

Not knowing who will take over for Stafford after he retires, the Rams could be in the market for a quarterback in this year’s draft – potentially even early on.

Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal shared a tidbit this week that the Rams are among the teams “sniffing around signal callers in this draft.”

As for McCarthy, he helped himself more by not being here than he probably would have had he shown up. The Michigan National Championship-winning quarterback passed on the chance to show out in Mobile and, with the other two big names scuffling, may have solidified a spot at the top of tier 2, QB-wise. Where will that land him? Atlanta (#8), Minnesota (11), Las Vegas (13), Seattle (16), LA Rams (19), Pittsburgh (20), and Tampa Bay (26) have all been sniffing around signal callers in this draft, in addition to the top 3 teams.

It would make some sense if the Rams drafted a quarterback early, but it would have to be the right prospect. They shouldn’t reach for someone like Bo Nix at No. 19 just for the sake of drafting a quarterback.

It would make more sense for the Rams to target one in the second round or potentially trade back from No. 19 and select someone like Michael Penix Jr. later in the first round.

Hedging my bet that the Rams trade up for an offensive play maker. If they land a stud edge in the first then stud DT in the second, there are quality WRs who could make an impact in rds 2-3. Rams could trade back into the 2nd and grab one. Here are 3 of my faves:

Xavier Leggett - So Carolina (KR)
Brenden Rice - USC
Jerrod “Bub” Means - Pitt

Nah. I’m convinced that’s what they want to do. Either WR or LT. With Bowers the long shot. Depends on what happens in the top 7-10. However, If they go “chalk” and get an edge defender, I’m already dead wrong. So, I am suggesting to follow up with DL and WR in the second using a third and a sixth to move back into the second. WR is deep. Edge is pretty deep thru the first 3 rds. DL has a few players. There are only 1or 2, maybe 3 true LTs who can start day 1. They can even use this strategy to move back into the late first. Especially if they stay at 19.

My guess is Odunze, Fashanu, or Bowers in a trade up. Then Elliss/Edge, and Hall or Wingo at DL. If they don’t get the WR in the trade up, get Leggett, Rice, Means or McCaffrey in the 3rd.

I gotta do my player pods post but it’s a lot of work and time consuming.

If we walked with in the first 3 rds
Fashanu
Elliss
Wingo
Leggett

I’d be pretty damn happy.

To add, I think they only make 7-9 total selections. Then sign a bunch of UFDAS.

BUT I am probably dead wrong on all of this. Lmao.

I don't have a clue what they're thinking. On one hand given the fact they beefed up the OL, you'd think they wouldn't go that way. On the other hand why not? 5 years for a LT?.....with our interior set for the next 3 years and Havenstein being signed through 2025.

Playmaker on offense makes a lot of sense. If Bowers were to slide to the mid teens a trade up? But they signed Parkinson, have Allen and Higbee. WR makes the most sense. On offense.

We all say or at least consensus suggests we need to go defense. And that probably makes more sense than anything else. But who? An edge, DT or CB? Probably depends on how it shakes out. And invites another question. Of the top 2 or 3 in each of those catagories, who wouldn't or shouldn't we trade up to get? The DTs? One of the 3 top edge's? Which CBs?

I'm not being a blind loyalist but no matter who they get, I'll be happy. Latu, Verse, Arnold, Mitchell, Murphy, Newton, Odunze, Bowers, Faunatu and of course any ranked above them. Or even a QB (top 5)

Don't think I could be disappointed. I know we lost AD and not thinking I could be disappointed sounds like behavior of a fan for a defending champions team....but we just won in 2021 and did waaaaay better than the best expectations last year. We have needs but not a lot IMHO.

We know the options, we know a lot of the names. We don't know which players in this draft the Rams really like. And that's obviously gonna be a huge factor, that and how things play out: If they want to move up, can they? If they want to move back? And so on...
