It good to be the LOS ANGELES Rams. We seem to be in the mix. ESK and McV are huge as well.

I'm starting to think its distinctly possible the Rams and Watson want to make the change. Goff and the Texans not so much. Pretty important components. If Houston would take Goff and Watson would threaten to sit out, it actually could happen.
Probably not though.

The Texans fan base would implode if they swapped Watson for Goff. Goff for Stafford makes more sense. Goff for Darnold, a little less sense but plausible. Goff to NE? Maybe?? Goff to Indy? There are options but that contract is the killer and the impression of who and what Goff is and isn’t.

How many teams see Goff as the guy, a franchise QB who can win the SB?

Not sure the Rams think that so why would anyone else?

aeneas1 wrote:watson is clearly a phenom and any team would rightfully give their left nut (nuts?) to land him, but it's so weird to me that the texans have never finished top 10 in offensive scoring in the 3.5 years he's been under center.. was o'brien just a complete stiff as hc? prior to the hou hc gig o'brien was with brady and the pats for 5 years, as qb coach and oc (the year mcdaniels was with the rams).

also, the texans ran a spread offense with watson while the rams run a west coast hybrid, and goff raked 3rd in play-action plays in 2020 while watson ranked 32nd - if the rams landed watson it would be interesting to see if mcvay changed the offense to better fit watson, or if mcvay would try to fit him into his west coats hybrid scheme.

Since Goff coming out of college,

A lot of posters and the media were saying that Goff couldn't play in the NFL underneath center because he came from an air raid system... and Wentz was more ready for the NFL because he'd played more underneath center...

Since playing for McVay,,, Goff has been one of the best underneath center and in play action...

Goff has the brain for a QB that can do both...

Those mobile QB to me seem to play mostly in a shotgun formation using the RPOs....
I wonder why? Is it because the have the physical ability and not a brain???

Wolford mostly played shotgun against AZ.... so that tells me he can't play underneath center that great either...

So I would take a wild guess if we were to get Watson,,, it would be in shotgun formation mostly...

I don't see Watson sitting out...

If he did sit out,,, I think he would have to pay some of that signing bonus money back.

Plus this is the year where his real money starts to kick in with the big salary...

He can talk all he wants.... Houston has the upper hand...

And Goff has the upper hand in LA if only salary based.

Mcv needs to clear his head, get laid a lot while on break, then come back to Rams Park and have a serious sit down with Goff to clear the air, lay out the specific plan, and stress his specific expectations. Les also said (his idea alone) that he likes the idea of having a “change of pace” QB. Perhaps that is something we see this upcoming season.

Nope. IVE GOT IT!!

The Rams trade Goff to Indy (after he agrees to a restructure) + a 4th this year for Indy’s 2nd and 3rd rounders this year. Then the Rams trade their 2022 1st and 2nd + a 2nd and 3rd this year for Watson.

Done, book it.
