PARAM wrote:Here's a list of games in which the QB had a rating under 80 (the magic Mendoza line that allegedly indicates whether it was a "good game" or "bad game" for the QB).

Brady: 3 (plus 2 of 3 in the postseason)
Brees: 3 (none in the postseason)
Rivers: 2 (none in the postseason)
Roethlisberger: 4 (no postseason)
Rodgers: 4 (no postseason)
Goff: 4 (2 of 3 in the postseason)
Luck: 4 (1 of 2 in the postseason)
Prescott: 3 (none in the postseason)
Wilson: 2 (none in the postseason)
Mahomes: 1 (none in the postseason)
Ryan: 1 (no postseason)
Stafford: 5 (no postseason)
Cousins: 3 (no postseason)

If only Jared Goff were more consistent.....(like those steady veterans Brady, Brees, Luck, Roethlisberger and Rodgers)…...he might be considered a top 5 QB!!!

i watched luck in the divisional round and said to myself "now there's the qb i hope goff will someday become".

So you picked a bad game. Why not pick a good game? Oh, yeah, you don't cherry pick, right

Goff's 2018 trendline was negative. Its only natural that some people aren't so high on him right now. He will bounce it back up this year and the narrative will change.

Heres Luck compared to Goff. The biggest difference again is consistently. Goff has that wild variance.

what, you want me to point all of luck's postseason games? would that make you feel better? want me to point to his postseason career that includes a qb rating worse than goff's postseason career qb rating? and, oh yeah, his no super bowl appearances? or maybe i should exclude his last two postseason games that sent the colts home, you know the game last year in which he lead his team to 6 offensive points, and his 2014 outing when he led his boys to 7 offensive points? hopefully goff will prove as consistent as luck some day. :D

Those are all wonderful stats, but the bottom line is that Goff's rating trended worse over the 2018 season with a high variance showing inconsistency.

Thats what people saw, we all saw that. And when he improves this year, it will be reflected in better trends.

Its quite possible that Goff will be better than Luck. Right now he isn't, not based on thier current trends

kinda like when, with the first round bye at stake and the guy who reportedly stirs the rams offensive machine riding pine and his favorite target out for the season, he led the rams to two consecutive ass kickings to close out the regular season and secure a first round breather? you know, when he led his gang to an average 36 offensive points per game and booked a 126.7 qb rating in the process? all i can say is thank god he had "everything right around him so that he could produce at an elite level" at the time, or god only knows what might have happened! :D :roll2:
