The New Orleans Franchise was complicitous in BountyGate remember Ram74? :idea2:
Hence the suspension of Saints GM Mickey Loomis....
so the Saints had to keep Sean Payton's spot open because the Franchise shared the BountyGate guilt with Payton. Who knows, maybe the NFL New York even insisted on the Saints not just making Payton the secondary FallGuy after Gregg Williams.

In any case, the KeepingTheChairWarm for Sean Payton linkage to the McVay-sought Ram HC hiatus fails, as the Rams Franchise has no such BountyGate shyte smeared on its toecaps in this McVay SoapOpera.

In other words Payton had to sit it out and McVay doesn't.

Nobody made the Saints hold the HC position for Payton. That was their voluntary choice. A lot of people thought they should (and would), just part ways with him. Would have been simpler. But they chose not to. They wanted him back.

The fact that there's no similar scandal associated with McVay and the Rams is immaterial. The two situations are very different, obviously.

And had the Saints won a championship under Joe Vitt, the way the Lakers did under Paul Westhead when Jack McKinney was injured, then things certainly might have turned out very differently. But they didn't, and Payton took over again after a year off.

Well, rams74, we do agree that "the two situations are very different. Obviously" :idea2:

As Hacksaw opines....
The NFL absolutely mandated that Payton was out as Saints HC. :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:
Whilst, this possible potential for McVay being out as Rams HC...that's self-inflicted by McVay. :?

What happens when you take Tom Brady out of the equation?

Despite the prevailing mood at RFU, the Rams seem very willing to work with, support and appease McVay here.

We may never know the whole story behind this and the waiting sucks. But here we are...

Raheem Morris the coach of the Rams.

Nothing to see here. Using the term interim was wrong. They will say he’s the head coach. He will be the head coach.

There will be a clause in his contract that if Sean Mcvay comes back. Mcvay resumes head coaching responsibilities. It sucks but that’s the way it is.

It would be better if Sean Mcvay didn’t come back as opposed to leave and then come back a year. Because everybody in the locker room would be saying when’s he coming back if he’s coming back. Media fans etc.

First two game losing streak where’s Mcvay?

It would be unfair to Raheem.

I’ve assumed already that Sean Mcvay isn’t a part of this organization anymore. Maybe he’s a scout?

But like Vermiel when he came back with the chiefs. It will be something like that.

Mcvay was huge for us. Turned our organization around won us a super bowl. It was worth it for F them picks.

I have more then enough confidence that Raheem Morris will return us to greatness and win us a championship. He’s a leader.

Has experience in offense. He has experience in defense. He’s done them both. He’s learned. And the players like him.

He will have respect from Stafford Kupp Ramsey and Donald and that’s what matters.

And he’s still developing the others in the locker room Akers Jefferson and Durant.

I also wouldn’t mind bringing in Vans dad Sean into the organization as a coach.

I like our team. We are fine.

Lets face it. The NFL is a money driven entity. Buddies mean nothing with literally hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. I wasn't privy to the conversations had before the last HC contract was signed but I truly doubt there was an understanding about something like the present state of things being a possibility. At very least Sean is not handling his Ram(and personal) business very well. He has already harmed his reputation both now and for future NFL coaching possibilities. This will likely always be in the back of a future owner's mind. As good as he was as a coach he's been that bad with handling this. IF the noise about how he can handle loss and adversity is true then he'll never be suited for this position. There are Navy Seals then there's every other "tough guy" who will never quite get there.

The answer is - he's been lousy. I think his career record is 79-88 without Brady.

Tom Brady? Huh??? :?2:
Sorry Elvis, but I am missing the point, and/or distinction here.
So you are saying Belichick doesn't win his many SBs without Brady? ME: Unknown.
Okay....so then I say,
Does Sean McVay win his one SB without Stafford? Answer: Also Unknown.
Now I feel like we're cancelling out two sides of a quadratic equation. :lol2:

Seriously, my opinion was that McVay's friends & allies in the media have established a very effective Public Relations snare for any potential "McVay Hiatus" critic who shows his head.

IE. Anybody saying, "Hey Sean, if it's too hot in the kitchen for you, just get out"
will be made by sports&social media to look callous & uncaring towards the sensitive issues of mental health, job burnout, proper pre-planning of child-rearing, Ukraine war carnage/suffering, etc etc

I went on and opined that that's why we are only hearing crickets from Kroenke, Demoff & Snead.
IMO, the Ram brass are too smart, so far, to step into that PR snakepit.

Elvis, if we want a historical comparison, forget Tom Brady and look at Dick Vermeil. :idea2:
Dick Vermeil was noble and fell on his sword. IE. Vermeil stepped-down/resigned his HC spot, and basically & honestly said, "it turns out that it IS TOO HOT in the kitchen for me....and I need to get out. Sorry to all my coaches, players, and to all the Eagle fans for letting you down."
That is a class act IMO.

Question: What exactly the fuck is McVay saying? Anybody deciphered that yet? Let me know.

Oh yeah, and Dick Vermeil went out alone, and made that tear-drenched announcement on his own. He didn't have any Peter Schragers, Whits, Eisens, Cowherds, etc etc running blocker for him!

This McVay Hiatus messaging is looking more & more preplanned and pre-orchestrated by McVay & his media pals IMO. :idea2:

Sean McVay won us a Lombardi, for which I am grateful.....but hey sportsfans, so did Dick Vermeil. :idea2:

You can say whatever you like about the current McVay situation. However, the comparison above is laughable.

Dick Vermeil had two horrible seasons, and then was virtually forced to hire Mike Martz who was undeniably instrumental in winning a Super Bowl immediately.

Sean McVay was a big success immediately and had five excellent seasons, including two Super Bowls and a Super Bowl victory before this one bad season.

So yeah, I would say there's much more to be thankful for McVay for us longtime Rams fans than Vermeil, who I do like by the way.
