I'm just amazed that "football guys" like Boomer Esiason, guys who actually played the game, miss the most important part.
Despite the terrible missed PI call, the Saints still took the lead!
Good lord, if you are a champion, you use that missed call to motivate you to destroy the other team.
You know, like the Rams did when they missed the multiple calls missed against them.
The champion doesn't complain, they just win the damn game....

I don't know if it's true but I read if the call was made the Saints had a 98% chance of winning the game. After the non call, they still had a 78% chance to win. All they had to do was, a) stop the Rams on their ensuing drive, or if that failed, b) win the toss and let their high powered offense drive down for a TD in OT. Instead they won the toss and their future HOF QB threw a pick that lost them a game in which they never trailed. Pretty bad I'd say, especially getting away with a hands to the face and holding on the uncalled PI play in the first place.

I didn’t realize the Vikes hate the Saints for winning the NFCC game in 2009 by what they view as unfair ref calls. Guess the Saints didn’t mind it then.

Some very funny comments, mostly they are mad at Payton.

Thank You, LA Rams!

I particularly liked the comment (paraphrasing) "I love hearing the Saints talk about 'integrity of the game' after the 2009 Bountygate Team took cheap shots at Favre!!!"

another one was:
"In a related story, a Minneapolis attorney wants the Dallas Cowboys to come back to the parking lot of Mall of America, former home of Metropolitan Stadium, to replay final seconds of the 1975 Divisional Playoff game against the Vikings. Yes, Drew Pearson pushed off."

Lol, Saints fans on their forums have gone off the deep end. If someone tries to make things rational by saying there's no conspiracy, it was just a blown call, they get attacked by the others.

Wade said it best. They feel Aaron Donald gets held a lot. Bad calls/missed calls happen. You move on and keep playing. Its been that way for a long time. Payton practically stopped coaching after that moment. I gotta think some of that rubbed off on the players.

I liked what Wade said when asked how Robey-Coleman is handling the non PI call and getting fined? "I think he's going to the Superbowl"

“All you have to do is look at history,” Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy said on Friday’s PFT Live. “There’s been all kinds of bad calls, non-calls. It happens all the time. It will never be remembered if you win the Super Bowl.”

Dungy pointed out that, as Saints fans continue to be up in arms over the call that wasn’t, the Saints benefitted from a similar error nine years ago in the NFC Championship against Minnesota.

“The Vikings got an apology on a Brett Favre interception that should have been roughing the passer,” Dungy said. “Wasn’t called. And the Saints go to the Super Bowl. They’re not giving their Super Bowl trophy back and saying, ‘You know what? That was roughing the passer. We should play that game over.’”

I must admit that I have a few Viking friends saying something about redemption for the 2009 game. I thought it was all about bountygate until Red's link to that Vikings board. Now I get it.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

They would be wise to just shut up about this because of 2009. They can quickly become as hated as any team in America.

We plainly just played at a Championship level and they didn't. And the call had nothing to do with this fact.

GO RAMS!!!

Amazing amount of bad calls in that 2009 game.

Little wonder my Vikings friends are so happy about that non call. Check them all out here:

Oh, but it’s become so ludicrous it’s entertaining. Since last time I checked, now the Rams and even McVay are in on it and us Rams fans feel so guilty we can’t enjoy the Super Bowl prep time. :D

An annoyed NFL fan has even started a petition to have the Saints kicked out of the entire NFL because they won’t stop whining.

New Orleans Saints is crying way to much about a non PI call in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game vs Los Angeles Rams (January 20th 2019)....EVERY TEAM would love to go back and rematch a particular game...As a NFL FAN, I'm sick of the Saints crying and they should be banned from the league indefinitely....THEY ARE RUINING THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE !! IT MUST STOP !!!!
