The cool thing (no pun intended) is that we are going to find out exactly what happens less that 24 hours from now.

We should beat the Bears. We should beat them if we were playing in the Southern California sunshine. We should beat them in the Midwest with frigid temps and snow. We should beat them because we are the better team.

If we don't it will be because we didn't make enough plays to win. Or Jared Goff can't play in cold temperatures. :roll2:

Say!
I like green eggs and ham!
I do! I like them, Sam-I-am!
And I would eat them in a boat!
And I would eat them with a goat...
And I will eat them in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
They are so goodm so goodm you see!

I’m worried from the standpoint that I expect Goff to turn the ball over. The big question is how many times?

McVay better have a great game plan to protect Goff or it could get ugly. I trust that McVay knows this, but I don’t know if it will be enough to save Goff from disaster.

On top of that I don’t trust the Rams run D. Cohen and Howard will be a big problem.

Where's this coming from? Do you expect Goff to turn the ball over because:
1) they're on the road?
2) they'll be playing in cold weather?
3) they're playing a good defense?
4) all of the above?

Is it a concern you usually have? Is it specific to this week?

IMHO, McVay needs to have a good game plan any week.

Your expectation that Goff will be a disaster this week is based on what? Your believe that with one game in bad weather in 6 years, he can't excel under those circumstances?

It's baffling.

goff's bumbling incompetence and ridiculously mediocre play aside, the bears have fielded a tough defense this year, especially against the pass, they rank league best in lowest qb rating allowed, 2nd in picks per pass attempt defended, and 3rd in fewest yards per pass attempt allowed:

here's how teams have fared passing the ball against the bears this year:

Baffling? (?) It's a normal part of football discussion.

Some fans get anxious about tough games.

Some fans get especially influenced by a recent bad game. Detroit and Denver both threw things at Goff he wasn't used to and he slipped a bit as a result (my take: JG is not yet at the veteran "seen everything already" level). So that can linger on this or that's fan's mind, things like that.

I don't agree with Max's take on this game (and have argued against it this whole thread) but I understand it. He's a good poster and a heavy-duty longtime Rams fan. And it's not completely inconceivable that he could be right about this game. I see it differently than he does but it IS a tough game.

I am not real big on conformity enforcement and subbing ridicule for honest disagreement. (Not that you personally crossed that line but given the way the board goes sometimes...you know it's coming.)

And, you (or someone) will say, I can say what I want. True. Me too. 8-)

Goff has lost 3 fumbles in the last 2 games. Twice against KC at home and once in Detroit in a dome. He also threw a terrible pick into triple coverage in Detroit. Now he's playing a top D on the road in the cold. Thats where its coming from.

What is the NFL record for touchdown passes by a single qb in one game?

I say Goff doubles that number.
