But there is no doubt this young team has some talent. Its hard to imagine a team so young being able to win consistently in this league. But once they figure out what it takes, the sky's the limit. ESPN has them 11th in their power rankings. Might be a little generous but maybe these kids have got some things figured out. I think its going to be an entertaining season. I'd take an 8th seed right now. Any playoff spot would be impressive considering where they were last season. Even if it ended up one and done. by Hacksaw 8 years 1 week ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: The Lakers POST #222 TOPIC AUTHOR And the beat goes on (on national TV) in Cow town. Came back from 19 points down to win by 10. Walton has these guys playing like a unit instead of 5 individual guys out there. I don't know where they'll be come April. But I'm excited for the future of this franchise. They have some good young talent with Russell, Randle, Clarkson and Ingram. Nance is a good high energy guy off the bench. An athletic big guy who can run the floor. A couple seasoned vets like Williams and Deng to help these kids maintain that energy without playing out of control. Nick Young is our JR Reed. Instant points off the bench. I noticed Mozgov played 33 minutes last night. Well over his average minutes. I imagine that was because of Cousins. Cousins scored 28 but had to shoot 25 times for that. Didn't shoot all the well. Missed 15 of those 25 shots. I didn't watch the game so I don't how much Mozgov had to do with that. I will be making a point to take time off my schedule to watch more Laker games. They're becoming watchable again. These guys could end up very good in a couple years. I like the direction they're going. by Hacksaw 8 years 1 week ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: The Lakers POST #224 TOPIC AUTHOR Me too snack. I expect them to lose some games like that. As long as they can rebound from those kind of losses. They're young and its hard to have that consistency from night to night. That's close to his season average. I'd say he's fine. Lakers lose a game that wasn't all that close. I don't think they cut the lead to single digits the whole second half. I expect them to lose some games like that. As long as they can rebound from those kind of losses. They're young and its hard to have that consistency from night to night. I think things are going as well as can be expected at this point. And they bounced back in Brooklyn. This team has a chance for the post season, GO RAMS !!! GO DODGERS !!! This team has a chance for the post season,Yeah, they seem to be figuring things out. Last year it was individuals with talent on the court doing their own thing. This year Walton has them playing more like a cohesive unit. If they learn that the team comes before the stats, they'll be pretty good. Randle's playing like an all star in the early going. He's close to a double/double almost every night. Russell's going to be an all star soon. He's getting better and better. Clarkson's already one of the better bench players in the league. He could end up 6th man of the year. All in all, I'd say there is much improvement. And its come sooner than I expected. I initially thought their ceiling was 30 games. But I see no reason they couldn't win 45 and challenge for a playoff spot. A young, athletic high energy team could be a nightmare for an older veteran team in the playoffs.
