This really plays into one of my main Bradford concerns.

His 2nd year here he was supposed to make the line calls in McD's offense but he couldn't do it . There was that play where Amendola had to explain to Bradford that it was zone coverage and Amendola had in fact run the right route, it was Bradford who made the mistake. And now Kelly is scaling back his offense?

Might be nothing in both cases and happening for lots of other reasons but i worried that Bradford couldn't really master the game and this seems to be telling me the same thing...

Yeah, I've wondered about those types of things and I think it contributes to Bradford's struggles early in a new scheme. He definitely needs time to get comfortable as he seems to be pretty conservative when he doesn't see everything. Right now, it looks like his head his swimming along with all the other issues going on. Kelly is leaning more on the running game in part because nothing is opening up. The receivers aren't usually winning their 1-on-1 matchups and defenses have been able to play man on the outside and flood the defensive backfield by only rushing 4. Without the running game working, it's really stifled what they like to do best.

Part of the running game not working might be attributed to the passing game not working either, but I think it's more a case of the guard play being pretty horrific the first couple of weeks.

We'll see this week. If Bradford doesn't start loosening up and feeling things better, then I'll wonder why he isn't getting it. This system is where he should be most comfortable, but it's hard to pinpoint what's wrong with him when so many other positions aren't completing their assignments. Bradford, IMO, has developed real trust issues which eliminates any anticipation throws or 50/50 throws. Waiting for something to be open will usually negatively impact a QB's numbers.

I dont know what Kelly offense is anymore. It certainly was at its best when the QB ran the ball.
Its still a read option type where OU was a straight up passing spread.
I think lack of QB mobility is hurting the offense a lot. Not even as much as running the ball himself at least not having a threat of QB running

It's a double-edged sword in the NFL. Run your QB on a regular basis and he's probably going to get hurt. I don't know that Kelly's been running the Eagles offense identically to the Ducks offense with Foles and Sanchez though. Foles would take off when it was glaring to do so but I don't know that he was an actual threat to run. Sanchez would actually keep it on the option a little more than Foles I think so I guess one could label him as a "threat" but overall, I think Kelly has modified what he's doing and continues to do so depending on situation and personnel.

As far as Kelly's offense and Oklahoma's offense, I think the similarities are in tempo and openness more than play design or anything like that.
