A 2nd rounder in a trade with anyone would be a clear win for us.

Exactly.

1. You know Greg Williams thinks Tru Johnson is better than any DB in this year's draft.

2. Cleveland has 2 firsts (1 and 12); 2 seconds (33 and 52); a 3rd (65) and 2 fourths (108 and 142)

They might think Tru is worth the #33 or the #52 and 108. The first would give us 33 & 37 in the 2nd. The second would give us 37, 52 in the 2nd, 69 in the 3rd and 108, 112 and 141 in the 4th. I'd take 6 of the first 141 picks and roll with that.

They might as well had not wasted the tag then. Tru has got value to a team in need (Cle) ,, and one who has extra low picks (Cle) is a good thing.
Sounds a bit like WP isn't totally behind him. Draft?
Trade him for a 2nd,, then a sign and trade for Pryor.

I think you are right that WP has his sights set on someone else

Methinks if there was any legitimacy to teams interest in Tru, he would have been traded already

Well not necessarily. It may be the domino effect. Teams in need and willing to pay for a top flight CB would probably like to sign a UFA outright rather than sign a guy AND give up draft picks for him. So once the top few corners in free agency get deals, IF there are still teams anxious and willing to pony up for a CB, Tru's market value....in terms of both salary and draft picks...rises somewhat.

An aside to this subject but concerning "what we gave up for Goff" or "how much we're in need of draft picks", we are fine IMHO. We have a high 2nd, high 3rd, two 4th's, a 5th and 6th and two 7th's. Outside of the first round pick we're in really good shape. And I would bet that should we acquire anything lower than a first round pick for Tru, it, or one of our other top 2 picks will be packaged together to get back into the first round and grab somebody we really covet. But I reiterate, as far as draft picks go, we're fine even if we don't add any more.

Trade him. I appreciate(d) his efforts, but a high second and some garbage late in the draft would be terrific. I wish him well. He'll make a good Safety someday.

I'd say he's worth a 3rd rounder at best.
As a pure player he's worth a 1st but its buyer beware with that contract he carries with him. He's a 1 year rental out of the gate
I'd take a 4th for him at this point

I'd agree, third round value, right now. Two weeks from now? Maybe higher. Maybe not. Two months from now? I'd say it changes as each day passes, each free agent signs somewhere and further down the road, each prospect comes off the board in the draft. Of course, that increasing value also pertains to Tru for the L.A. Rams.
