Old Man Time wrote:I was at the game. The turning point in that game was when Fisher decided to kick a field goal instead of going for a first down. They were less then six inches away!!! Talk about not trusting your QB.... no instead they try to kick a field goal in the rain.... and "thunk" hit the up right. After that, I knew it was going to end badly.

It was still a two score game, regardless if they made the field goal or not. If they went for the first down, it would have taken more time off the clock and hopefully get you closer to the end zone for a score or closer to the up rights for a better chance at making field goal.

Goff played OK for his first real NFL game. No turn overs and only 1 tipped pass that I can remember. Had this been Keenum, at least one int and several tipped passes.

Maybe next time Bor-Ass and Fisher will remember that Goff is playing and come up with a game plan better suited to his arm strength, which is one of the reasons he was drafted. Left him go deep at the beginning to the game and maybe, just maybe the opposing defense will stop putting 8 in the box and give the running game a chance.

Here's how I see the Rams offensive problems. Quit promoting coaches with no OC experience. When they named Cignetti OC, I thought "Oh great, no experience and no one knows how he's going to handle it" then theh let him go and I thought "Oh good, now the get it". The they name Boras OC. I think "Here we go again".

Please stop with the rookie inexperinced OC hires. Go out and get someone who knows WTF they're doing. I can come up with at least two guys that are unemployed who could put points on the board and make this offense top notch.

Norv Turner, Mike Shanahn. I'm sure there are other out there. It reminds me of the years of bringing in FA OL vets. Wells, Joeseph, Barksdale, Bell etc... It took them years to figure out that just didn't work, but they kept doing it.

I don't see that getting done. Turner and Shanahan would want complete control of the Ofense and Fisher is not going to let that happen.

There is a certain swag that Fishilliams marches out every week. Really good stuff that I would sorely miss.
I don't hate Fishhead. He just needs to go Presidential and get guys that are proven to knowing what they are doing (like GW) and have them take control over the offensive nuts and bolts for which Fishhead apparently has little to no clue. If that is what he is doing now, then he shouldn't be leading the charge.
(That is how any extension should be written with a 1 yr 'cut the cord' clause just in case he can't.)

We should not forget, the O may have been governed by staff's 1st start paranoia and the inclement conditions.

Goff looks like a rock star.

Of course my perspective might need tweaking after having experienced a 'Season of Keenum'.

At this point, I don't know what they can do. I think this team just doesn't know how to win. Plain and simple. If they score points they find a way to lose. They had a game where they scored 28 and lost.

If they have solid defensive games they find a way to lose. In the last 4 games they gave up 17/13/6/14 points. Most teams would go 4-0. We went 1-3.

Good teams find ways to win with they have that day. The Rams are getting stellar defensive efforts and still losing. Fisher can blame it on the players all he wants. But after 5 years its pretty clear its the coaching.

In the Jeff Fisher regime, the defense has played well enough to win 10+ games and the offense has played poorly enough to lose 10+ games. Its wash rinse repeat

You know it's bad when the first thing you do (as a fan) after a rare nice play on offense is look for the penalty flag. And it's there more often than not. Or it seems that way...

I thought the first thing we do is to say "holy crap, I cant believe we just had a nice play"
Then look for the penalty flag...
