You always play for the best odds. Apparently Fisher, along with his other deficiencies, doesn't get this simple rule. He really is a buffoon. And for the love of God, could somebody on the team please send him a extra point conversion card.

If GZ didn't have a problem at the moment, my thought or excuse for Fish is that he saw a weakness in TB's defense that he thought the Rams could exploit and subsequently demoralize the Buc's by getting the 2.

13 points gives you a better shot at a tie so it's probably as simple as that. 11 or 12 is a loss if all other things remained the same. Kind of overthinking it and not showing a lot of confidence in the D though.

This isn't that hard...

9 points and all you need is a TD, 1XP, and a FG to win.
11 points and you need the TD and the 2pt conversion and a FG just to tie.

And don't think GZ is having a problem at the moment like you said. He's been good so far this year.

But keep in mind, I'm not advocating that kicking the XP is a much of a risk, honestly, I don't see it as such.

I just would like to hear Fisher answer the question.

the possible outcomes are:
9 pt lead - highly unlikely
11 pt lead - reasonably likely
12 pt lead - highly likely
13 pt lead - reasonably likely

By Fisher going for 2XP, he probably reduced his risk of getting to a 9 pt lead by 2%. That's kind of dumb, if you ask me.

If it were New York, that would have been the first question asked. Dani and Myles are not going to ask that question. How about Farmer? Vinny? Someone?

Dani and Myles work for the Rams. They want to keep their jobs.

Farmer is a marshmallow. Vinny is still trying to build his career.
They don't ask tough questions. Fisher will squash them.

We need someone else.

Idiots think alike...

Bruce Arians, Cardinals
The effort was bad enough in Buffalo. And maybe this summed it up: Down 30-13 in the third quarter, Arians went for two points. Huh? Take the extra point and you are still within two scores. Not good math, Bruce.

both of my computers decided to go to crap with video playback at the same time so i haven't had a chance to watch the game yet...

from what i gather, the one point would have put us up 12? and the 2 point made would have put us up 13?..

so after the botch on the 2 pointer, we were up 11?

not sure if it was a good or bad call with so little knowledge of the situation...lol

cant wait to get my computer home... :)

You have the situation correct. After the missed two pointer by the Rams, they were up by 11 points with about 4:30 minutes to go in the game. TB scored a TD with just over 3 minutes left in the game to make it 37-32, and of course they went for two and didn't make it. If they made the two pointer, it would've been a three point game and they could've tied the game with a FG on their finally drive.

Correct. Tampa had scored while down 31-20. The Bucs wisely went for 2 to try and cut the lead to 3, but didnt make it which left the Rams up 5, 31-26. The Rams scored a TD on a dback whiff on Tavon that allowed Austin to literally walk in to the end zone from the 20. Rams go up 37 to 26 with about 4:30 to go. Zuerlien had nailed a 53 yarder earlier in the game and was dead solid perfect on his PAT. So up 11, The Rams went for 2. And not only did they "try" it was a QB keeper that really didn't look like it had a chance.
It just defies all logic. 12 makes it a 2 TD game, as does 13. But 11 leaves the door open
