Ok, open apology for all of those I called a liar....
I tried Direct TV AGAIN....
They offered me $30 off my bill for the next 12 months. I said not good enough. They offered some additional DVR which I dont need and I refused.
So I said that the ticket was my only reason and all I care about is lowering my bill.
So they put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back offering me the sunday ticket for free, and $30 off my bill for the next 12 months.
I took the deal....

I told my brother your story and he called back and basically said he knows people are getting better deals than his and it kind of bothers him. (And if you knew my brother you'd know it's true.) Anyway, it took a while and they switched him to another department but he finally got the Max package for free (he was only getting the basic package when he called in).

So now, maybe, i'm gonna have to call back...

Well, after the girl read the diclosures and was basically wrapping the deal up with a bow, I realized that she kept telling me I got the NFL ticket for free. I've had max the last couple years. So I asked her if it was just the basic package and she said yes. I didnt want to push my luck so I am paying $17 a month for 6 months for the Max package. Still getting the ticket for free and $30 off my bill for 12 months.
Lesson learned though.

I just got it for free also. I paid for it last year but got it free in 2013. I called to cancel it before the season starts and they offered me $9 off per month. I turned it down and they cancelled it. I asked since I was on the phone about my account commitment. I had upgraded my equipment last year. She said she would transfer me because she didn't have that information. She transferred me and I told the new lady that I was thinking of cancelling soon and wanted to know my commitment. She told me I had another year on a 2 year commitment from last years upgrade. Then she asked why I was thinking of cancelling and she noticed I was a long time subscriber. I told her the price was too much. She then offered me free Sunday Ticket Max for the year and $5 off my bill. I jumped at it because I was already locked into another year anyway.
