Either way, do you actually need a first class facility to keep up fan support? I mean unless it's an unspeakably bad one, I don't think fans care how high a facility ranks in the league. The reason the Rams attendance dropped over the years in St. Louis had nothing to do with the facility. I thought it had more to do with both a long series of losing seasons and the knowledge the team was trying to move. Totally disagree here and it's stated in the article that when the Rams considering moving to St. Louis they knew it was a challenging market and wanted to ensure the facility was kept up and that's how they ended up with the "top tier clause." You must be young because I can tell you I'm a man 49 years of age the facility is important to me. I don't want to be cold and wet and I realize that might seem silly, but I was much different at 19 then 49, however, I have much more money to spend. Overall the CVC lost their vision on what the main attraction was and I do feel fans want an excellent game day experience because otherwise they can just stay home in the comforts of their living room, man cave or where they enjoy viewing the game...Things have changed you have to make it worth their while coming to the game and it's no longer just tailgating and grilling brats, you need more than that and some markets are better than others, but IMO, it was important for the people of St .Louis to have a positive game day experience just like it's important for the fans of Los Angeles. by Pancake 8 years 10 months ago Total posts: 54 Joined: Jun 18 2015 LA Coliseum Practice Squad Re: PD: How St. Louis lost the Rams POST #22 I don't know. If it's a win. I go away with a positive experience 99.9% of the time. If it's a loss the bells and whistles of the stadium might make me feel a little better but not much. by Elvis 8 years 10 months ago Total posts: 40084 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Re: PD: How St. Louis lost the Rams POST #23 TOPIC AUTHOR /zn/ wrote:den-the-coach wrote: But they knew the facility had to be first class for St. Louisans to fully support football Reports I have read say that the Rams were actually stunned the city went for this.
