HellRam wrote:McVay offenses tend to get worse as the season progresses. It's becoming a trend. In the past we would have blamed Goff for scoring 7 points in a game like this. Now what?

I would also like to see more of McVay's traditional offense implemented more. Zone run, jet sweep, play action. Mixed with what Stafford likes with the drop backs and shotgun.

rams vs the niners, the last 3 years:

with goff:
0-4, 16.8 offensive pts/gm, 70.3 qb rtg, 4 td, 4 int.

with stafford:
0-1, 10.0 offensive pts/gm, 67.4 qb rtg, 1 td, 2 int.

plain crazy.

AvengerRam wrote:1. That was a disgraceful performance.

2. Let's start with the defense. You know exactly what the 49ers are going to do, and you let them. And, in case anyone forgot, this was a 3-5 49ers team - not some world beating juggernaut.

3. Tackling - bad.

4. Coverage on Kittle and Samuel - hideous.

5. Effort level - pathetic.

6. How about the offense? Key drops resulting in a pick 6 and two second half 3 and outs. Plus, a couple by Jefferson. WTF?

7. Stafford was unsteady in the pocket despite only moderate pressure, and off target on many throws.

8. Coaches get a failing grade. Poor game plan on defense and no adjustments. Stupid calls before the half (poorly designed screen pass on second down, idiotic fake FG) prevented Rams from ending first half with some momentum.

9. The running game was fine... but irrelevant.

10. Same could be said about our defensive stars. Donald made plays. Miller did too. Ramsey had some nice break-ups... but irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

11. Do the last two weeks create a blueprint? Yes and no...

12. Yes... for teams that can play tough and physical and have the discipline to march down the field methodically.

13. No... not every opponent is built to play that way... thankfully.

14. Normally, I'd hate having a bye after a loss, but this team desperately needs a week off to regroup.

15. Hopefully, we can use the time to stop welcoming new players on Twitter and refocus on fundamentals.

16. Hopefully, we can use the time to fully integrate two very talented players who can help down the stretch.

17. Hopefully, we can use the time to practice countermeasures for the types of strategies that have killed us in the past two games.

18. Hopefully, McVay will remember how successful his offense can be with a true commitment to the run.

19. The Rams are still in great shape for making the playoffs and only a game back in the division standings (though, with tiebreaker issues, they will probably need to gain two games on Arizona).

20. Me... I'm going to take a few days, maybe a week, to cool off. This has been a tough two weeks. But I'm just a fan... I can't do anything but wait two weeks and hope to see a better effort at Green Bay. Its up to the Rams to regroup and hit the stretch run with a vengeance. The talent is there, but talent is not enough. The Rams need to control the narrative and force teams to play their game. Otherwise... "all in" will go from triumphant rallying cry to punch line.

Well said.

A little time off is wise. When we lose like this, I tend to simply shut the media out for the week so I dont have to hear the shit that is undoubtably coming our way.

Thanks for the ‘20 Random’ thing that you do. I enjoy reading them.

Yeah that all in approach and grabbing so many big name stars made us a real fat juicy target. Every one was giddy to see us roll out the "Glitz and Glamour" team and dominate. Our opponents were getting worried.
Then we proceed to plop 2 stinkers on their feet.
They are gonna have their way with us and we deserve it... 2 real shit showings on national TV will do that. Ding-Dong the witch is dead stuff. Kick em when they're down. Fun talking points.

I sure hope we can grab our stuff and make it happen in the 2nd half of the season and give em what they expected. But more so what we need to change the current perceptions.

Or McVay, aka Shanny's bitch, isn't the coach we thought he was.

1. The Niners own us, they just do, we need to smash them in week 18 to change that.
2. Van Jefferson has a ways to go
3. Stafford quit throwing dumb interceptions, back down the aggressiveness
4. run the ball
5. run the ball
6. run the ball

Team are beating themselves by being impatient. Our defense is built to capitalize on impatience, yet our offense does the exact same thing. Need to go back to being physical run first. The lack of execution is on the players the lack of physical play is on McVay.
