In both cases, while the owners can certainly act upon their personal beliefs and values, I think the bigger issue should be whether Meyer and/or Gruden has lost credibility in the locker room. Football is a grind, and if players look at their HC and see a hypocrite, it could impact the effort levels (maybe not so much on Sunday, but during the rest of the week).

Meyer may make it to the end of the year, but I'd be pretty surprised to see him back absent a late season surge of victories.

Gruden is a closer call. He came with high expectations, and he has not really delivered thus far. I'd say his seat is, at least, warm at this point.

Jerry Rice was caught cowering in a closet clad only in a well used towel when the cops busted into a Mountain View (CA) happy ending massage ( :roll2: ) palace back in his playing days. Not a whimper out of the NY office.

Absolutely agree on this, but to blame it on some gal grinding on him is b.s. Call him a slacker and discipline him for the right reasons.

I think it would be hard for Khan to fire him this year and eat all of those $$$$. I think he stays another year for this reason if nothing more.

Totally agree on Gruden. He starts fast and his team then fades. Yesterday's loss to the Bears should be a major wake-up call to ownership. Then too, Davis is the the poorest owner in the NFL with the exception of the Spanos family and I doubt he can afford to fire Gruden and eat those $$$$. My guess is that Chucky survives for the same $$$$ reason.

I think Meyer may be gone no matter what at years end. Late season surge included.

Gruden needs to win or he's gone and it may have nothing to do with the e-mail. He went 19-29 coming into this year. Davis brought him in to win....and possibly to be that "bridge" from Oakland to Vegas. He has silver and black in his blood, built a winner the first time but Al Davis let him get away and he beat them in the Superbowl. Make no mistake (and Mark Davis knows), Gruden built that team Callahan took to the SB. But the Raiders mantra "just win baby" isn't happening this time around with Gruden. He needs to make the playoffs, and maybe win a postseason game. JMHO

I think Gruden is back next year unless the team implodes. The GM Mike Mayock is the one that will be fired at the end of the season.

Until now I thought this would blow over but it’s gaining steam…

Has McVay said anything about Gruden yet?
