I have that same trash can. I found mine at a thrift store, relatively cheap...and with a dent. No doubt donated after that Rams fan kicked in frustration over a loss or trade or cut or something or other. :)

I've heard the song's titled was based on the time but did not know where it originated.

I got them from a friend, but I know back in the 70's they gave them away at gas stations. I think I remember Mobil giving a set of 4 if you got like a full service full tank or something like that.

My family had a set of those and now I have my own set. I always thought they were distributed at Sunoco gas stations. They are definitely early 1970s.
