Gareth wrote:Yeah I really hate it when Goff jogs off the field after a bad play.

And even worse when McVay and Goff say stuff like “we need to be better”.

You know because that’s the kind of stuff that gets us beat.

Yeah, I'd like to see him get a little more animated, maybe yell at some guys, maybe get all amped up and rah, rah on the sideline like Rodgers and Brady, but some guys just aren't that way. Hell, Rodgers didn't start until year 4 and he went 6-10 that year....I doubt he was a true leader at that point. Brady, of course won a SB in his second year, first year as a starter but we all know he's special, the GOAT. New England had been leaning on him from day one.

I know it’s hard to tell sometimes but my prior post was pure sarcasm.

I just don’t understand why people get upset at what McVay or Goff says in a press conference after a loss. It has nothing to do with winning or losing. And Goff jogging of the field “ nonchalantly“ is an issue? Do you want him to throw a tantrum? Some guys are demonstrative and some aren’t.

I was very unhappy with the way Goff played today. I thought he was terrible. But I do not think it’s lack of effort and I do not think throwing a hissy fit will help anything.

Yeah....
that is EXACTLY "the kind of stuff that gets us beat".....

like in the SuperBowl two years ago....where we matched the 1971 Dolphins nadir of TOTAL SUPERBOWL POINTS SCORED....
....with THREE TOTAL POINTS!!! :oops2: :arrow2: :roll2:

.....AND it is definitely the Kind of Stuff that sinks our 2019 Playoff Hopes at 9-7 and dunks us back into the NFL's Sea Of Irrelevance!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

So use sarcasm all you like........there are those of us out here who can deal with it. :idea2: :arrow2: 8-)

Goff looks lackadaisical when he gives the ball away. That repeated occurance from Goff is definite sign of "poor leadership" in my view!!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

....and I will take those views to my military grave! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

Just FYI! :x

At some point, may have happened already, Goff will lose the locker room(and the coach). I know several of you guys have played the game and when on a team where the weak links are so visible, it gets tedious. Every presser, when he says he needs to get better, I want to vomit. It's pretty obvious that you need to get better. When, exactly, can Ram fans expect that to happen? I'm afraid it never will as he's been in the league long enough for that to have already happened. He came a long way in a short time then regressed and has not been able to adapt to the way smart defensive coordinators have adapted to him. He's always been one dimensional. Now that one dimension is obscure.

My bad. Sarcasm isn't always easy to read. :D

Well, we heard he same shit when we lost in Miami. Then the next two weeks very little was said about his performance. I'm with you Gareth. I hate losing. I was pissed with the way our offense (led by Goff) played today. But I don't need to call him out, especially to extremes. I can remember more than a few games the offense (led by Goff) won for the Rams. And I'm pretty confident there will be a few more.

CanuckRightWinger wrote:HIS FUCKING LOUSY BALL SECURITY THAT LOST US THE FUCKING BALL GAME

goff's 3 turnovers accounted for 3 rams drives which left a whopping 11 drives to work with - and what did the rams do with those 11 drives? 7 punts (including 4 three-and-outs), a brown fumble, 2 field goals and a td... mcvay's charges could manage exactly 1 measly td in the remaining 11 drives against these mooks.

all of the rams turnovers were bad, and hurt, but on 3 of the rams 4 turnovers the niners responded with an interception, a fumble, and a missed field goal, i.e. they came up snake eyes on the 3 of the 4 rams gaffs, on all but the pick 6.

so we're left with an offense that can't overcome a pick 6 with 11 drives to work with, against a short-handed defense, despite the rams defense holding the bad guys to just 16 offensive points, despite the rams defense chipping in 7 points of their own.... good fuckin' grief.

I MEAN...IF I AM GETTING THAT MUCH JACK $$$$$ FROM MY EMPLOYER, THEN I AM SHOWING A TAD MORE FUCKING SENSE OF URGENCY THAT JUST PLOPPING ONTO THE BENCH, THROWING ON MY BALLCAP, AND LOOKING AT A TABLET......

Like Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Drew Brees, and other HighPriced NFL QBs, I am getting together with my Offensive Teammates and talking about how to improve our fortunes on OUR next series with the FUCKING ball!!! :idea2:
IT'S CALLED LEADERSHIP!!!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2: ....AND NOT EVERYBODY HAS IT!!! :idea2:

You know who Jared JoeMontanaFanAsAYute Goff reminds me of when he jogs nonchalantly offa da GridIron after yet another one of his turnovers????!!! :idea2:

SAM L'IL ABNER BRADFORD!!!!.....
another overpriced Rams QB....
WHO DISPLAYED LITTLE OR NO SENSE OF URGENCY!!! :x THAT'S WHO!!! :evil2:

love it, altho it's hard for me to agree with much of it, especially the bradford comparison, ha ha... for decades i've watched hof qbs take a seat after they've fucked up, alone by themselves, attempting to shake it off, trying to get it together, few if any made a habit of running off the field after a bad play, geared up to make an impassioned speech to rally the troops, or to huddle up with the guys in an effort to get things right.

and, yeah, most fans want to see emotion from players, especially qbs, many seem to think it equates to leadership, or is proof that they give a shit, i've never been in that camp, have never been sold on this notion, and i'm pretty sure that no one on the field felt worse about those turnovers than goff, as i'm pretty sure none of his teammates questioned his leadership because of them, or because of how he reacted to them.

And Goff was the QB for every single one of those failed drives. The turnovers are obvious. The rest of his bad play was equally responsible for the loss. It isn't all on Goff but he's the big money offensive player that was supposed to be "the guy". He's eating up resources that could be used more effectively. It isn't so much that he's a horrible player but, more, the team is stuck in mediocrity and can't get out because of his contract. I believe he's one of the 3 most overpaid players in the NFL(based on performance) and most of his $$$ is guaranteed.

Hey aeneas1, duly noted 8-) .....
and, maybe even you are correct on all counts! :idea2:

I will, after taking all your comments on advisement and at full face value, continue to view Goff as a guy who missed out on getting the Sense Of Urgency Gland being issued to him by His Creator.

TO ME....as the QB of the Team.....AND AS THE HIGHEST PAID PLAYER ON THE TEAM....
GOFF HAS GOT TO OWN THOSE MISTAKES.......BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THOSE ERRORS.....AND SHOW SOME CONCERN MORE THAN JUST SAYIN' "I'LL BE BETTER NEXT TIME!" AT HIS POST LOSTING-GAME PRESSER!!!" :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:
THAT'S JUST THE WAY I SEE THINGS! :!2:

We are all wired differently here. Different childhoods, differing work backgrounds, varying life esperiences etc etc.

Sometimes we disagree with even those we respect. It happens. :|

I do not see that occurence as "a bad thing".....in fact, I have wrote here numerous times that "groupthink is bad"....."being a lemming is bad"....."being a Stepford Wife is bad".....

I post here at RFU because there are alot of smart Rams fans HERE who see things their own way.....AND IMO, THAT IS A GOOD THING!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

As commonly wrote by me.....VIVE LES DIFFERENCES!! :idea2: :arrow2: 8-)

I hope you get what I am saying.

yep, and he's been the qb for every one of the rams failed drives since he became starter, and since he's played for mcvay, so why have failed drives become much more frequent this season? is it because goff has just sucks?

headed into today's game the rams ranked 25th in the % of combined tds and field goals scored per drive, i.e. 25th in scoring per drive - out of 32 teams, and they'll of course drop even farther once today's numbers are in the books.

even last year, a down year for the offense, the rams ranked 10th in scoring per drive, in 2017 and 2018 they ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

so what's going on here? is it just a matter of goff not being very good? seems hard to accept that he's gone from a 2-time pro bowler to bust in 2 short years.
