What's up with the charade? Considering he had every member of his family tree on the field before the game and was saying goodbye to everyone, I wonder why he went all coy and acted like the decision hadn't been made?

Man, some other team is going to get a great coach. No way I would let him go.

Sean Payton, Mike Shannahan, Tom Coughlin, Chip Kelly, etc. Quite a selection of "winning" coaches out there looking for jobs and the Rams are going to stand pat with ".500 is the ceiling" Fisher. I don't think Rams fans have it the worst but it's pretty danged hard to not feel like the Charlie Brown's of NFL fandom.

Yeah. He left the post game presser early and dragged things out today. Seems like the writing was on the wall in bright neon but he kept acting like the decision hadn't been made. Who knows? Maybe it hadn't. But it sure seemed like he was dragging out the inevitable.

I agree that it's frustrating. But I think they need all eyeballs on the LA Relocation, which is much more important to the franchise (and I think most of us) then a coaching change. They can always switch HC's after the 2016 season, which is what I predict will happen.

It truly hadnt.
Bottom line is that the Giants were hoping, praying that Coughlin was going to retire after the game.
They didnt want to fire him, but he wouldnt give up.
Maybe if they won, things would have been different

I don't know what kind of attention it would take to bring in a new coach. I really don't. IMO, if he has football people to run the football side of things, relocation shouldn't be an excuse to stand pat with a coach who needs to be fired.

For example, if they are going to keep Snead, why can't he handle all the details of hiring a new coach and then just have Kroenke sign off on it? Doesn't seem to be so difficult that it comes down only making one of the big decision or the other.

Whether or not any of us think relocation trumps finding a new coach and that they could easily do both, it's pretty clear that's not how the Rams see it...

I don't care about the Giants either way but it seems to me they might be cutting off their nose to spite their face. Coughlin's brought them two Super Bowls in the last 9 years and many .500 or better seasons and many playoff appearances. Sure, their defense has sucked the last few years but it isn't like Coughlin has forgotten how to coach. Or given up on coaching.
