Why wouldnt he at least file? Even if he has no intention of leaving. Is there harm in filing?

Carson is many,many years away. I can definitely see wiggle room for Davis to work a deal even if Carson is approved.
Im convinced that all Spanos cares about is blocking Kroenke. He'd gladly move the team, play in the coliseum for a year or two and when Carson finally goes belly up, he could move back to San Diego

That is what I believe too. Spanos didn't do anything until Kroenke announced his intentions. I've heard they might have been working together before all of this. If thats true, then Spanos is pissed Kroenke went behind his back and is basically using emotion to guide his decisions. That usually doesn't work out. You have to put all that aside when making billion dollar decisions.

Stanger things have happened, but I dont believe in today's day and age of information overload that there could be any back room deals happening that nobody knew about.

That said, if Spanos found that Davis was doing an end around, he certainly isnt in a position to cast DAvis aside over it. In an ironic twist, Spanos may need Davis more than the other way around.

I guess the good news here is that we are only at worst a week or so away from having new information to talk about

I never understand this we have built two stadiums in 25 years. They built a convention center and then added a team and all they have right now is a proposal no stadium has been built. So in 25 years they built a semi quasi stadium and until the proposal is accepted that is all that has been built. In fact if the Dome was truly a stadium they built they would have never said they could not shut down it down for refurbishing it. They could not shut the Dome down as it would have cost them conventions dollars. Sounds like a convention center to me. They have not built the Riverfront so when can we see some honesty and find out they have yet to support football enough to build a stadium and Riverfront if approved will be the first one.

Good points Legends! Also, the Georgia Dome and RCA dome never made it 25 years. The BS about no city building 2 stadiums in 25 years is just not accurate. You could throw the MetroDome in there as well. It was just over 30 but should've been torn down well before that.

I have this weird feeling the STL stadium proposal goes up in flames before the Vote.

As I understand it Nixon hasn't submitted the plan yet. It was mentioned and pointed out here that he (or was it popPeacock) were fairly certain they would get it in before the NFL latest proposed deadline. This coming Wednesday.
If they don't get it in, your feeling won't be all the weird at all.

STL will submit a plan, but it will be the same crummy plan that we already know about. SK and almost all owners would reject that plan, if the city they play in came up with that plan.
