Nice world, that.

What does it cost?

eh? what "dime a dozen og" are you referring to? jamon brown who helped the rams to a #2 ranking in offensive scoring in 2017? blythe who helped the rams to a #3 ranking in offensive scoring in 2018 and, oh yeah, the super bowl? youngsters noteboom and edwards? two guys who have been in the league for a cup of coffee so far?

I suppose it is relevant. Smell the coffee.

Jamon, are you freaking kidding me? That is outa control. Trying, as weird as it is, to compare Brown to Saffold is extraordinarily weak.

Love ya, but you are wrong all day about this.

Good question.

We would have tried.

:shock2:

pretty sure i was just pointing out the impact the rams "dime a dozen" guards had on the offense in 2017 and 2018, seems that the offense did pretty well with brown and blythe at guard, no? but for whatever reason you seem to think saffold was the key the rams offensive success, which i don't get.

the titans averaged 14.8 offensive points per game and 4.7 yards per play with saffold + mariota as they stumbled to a 2-4 start, is it any wonder why many were calling saffold an overpaid fa bust?

once tannehill took over the titans averaged 28.5 offensive points per game and 6.6 yards per play and posted a 7-3 record... but it was thanks to saffold the titans offense got rolling?

anyway, as i mentioned, i'm a huge saffold fan, always was and always will be, but the rams 2019 offensive issues extended far beyond the loss of saffold, the rams offense continued to score points against defenses ranked outside of the top 10 in 2019, just as they did in 2018, but continued to struggle against defenses ranked in the top 10, just as they did in 2018, with saffold.

Lol. I suggested that?

He sure as hell didn’t hurt.

Isn't going to happen normally? The tougher defenses are tougher for a reason. But like you said in another post, that's on McVay to adjust his game plans (and Kromer and the rest of the offensive staff) and come up with a scheme to defeat them. Makes sense.

well sure, but the notion that the rams offense failed because saffold left is unfounded, the 2019 rams put up points against non-top 10 defenses just like they did with saffold, and they struggled against top 10 defenses, just like they did with saffold... meanwhile, last year the vikes moved 3rd round, 2-year center elflein to left guard for the first time in his career and they jumped from 19th in scoring to 7th, the gsot rams grabbed 7th rounder nutten from the bills and dominated, right guards jamon and blythe helped the rams field top offenses in 17/18 and reach the super bowl - but the rams needed saffold in 19 in order to be successful? they "underperformed" because they let saffold walk? very tough sell imo.

Again, no one is saying this.

I am saying there is a very good chance the Rams O would have been better with who I consider to be one of the top OG’s in football.

I take corrective instruction very well, but I don’t see where I am wrong here.

We differ on this, no biggie, my friend.

I love Littleton, I made a prediction he was going to be a stud way back! I'm not as high on Fowler but in a perfect world it would be great to keep them both!
I just don't believe we should over pay for either! Isn't this the reason were in this cap mess now?!
That's been one of the main topics since the end of the season that how cap strapped the team is and how are we going to be able to make any necessary moves?
Was are defense that good last year? We got embarrassed several times and beyond that what was our average ranking 12th, 13th?
Honesty, how much more do you think we'd decline if we lost them?
My opinion, we don't need a top 10 defense as long as we get the offense and scoring back on track!
Could we franchise one of them and then turn around and package a trade deal?

I'd like Littleton to come back but I think he's going to get an overpay due to the timing of his FA.
Overall I think he's been pretty inconsistent and hyped because of some of his highlight plays. Great in coverage but for an inside guy he just seemed to miss alot, or be in the wrong place alot on running plays.
Gladly have him back, but not sure he's worth the $$ he'll get.
And I'd rather him back than Fowler for sure if its a choice between the 2
