I agree a1. That gap will be noticeable for sure and I don't see it talked about enough. When we go live, more people will notice.

One of the cool things about watching the Rams was when you saw the OL or DL in their stances from the right angle, the helmet horns looked awesome. The "gap" there now will not look as cool IMO. Now all I will see is a bunch of Leon Spink's teeth! :lol2:

Yeah, I see that too. Woods helmet looks much better but that is not how ours will look. Unfortunately our will be more like AD's. :roll2:

IMO, especially with the Bone jersey. That one NEEDS color! Otherwise, they look like dirty dish towels with plastic numbers on them. :lol2:

yep....

ever since the rams moved to decals in 1973 and riddell introduced their wide "wildcat" nose guard with their logo on it (that wraps around the front lip of the helmet), the rams have done different things in order to mount the horns closer together in front, things that would allow the equipment managers to easily remove / replace the decals without having to remove the facemask... for a while the rams simply applied the horns above the wildcat nose guard which saved time, i.e. they didn't have to cut this area of the decal on top of already having to cut other areas of the decal to accommodate facemask clips... but this left a wide space between the front lip of the helmet and the start of the horn... for many years the rams also cut the front of the decal to fit around the wildcat, including through last year.

but now they've decided to go with a different, easy, lazy solution - simply apply the horn decals on the outside of the wildcat nose guard, i.e. the width of the wildcat nose guard now dictates how far apart the horns will be, which pretty much sucks imo... all pro helmet brands (riddell, schutt, xenith, vicis, etc.) have wildcat nose guards of almost identical width given they're held in place by the top facemask screws/clips.

I think the same goes for the "curl" on the horn. With all the different helmet designs, it was a time suck as well as, in all honesty, many times did not look right when they had to cut it and have it work around some screws and such. I am sure they could have worked around it, they obviously had, but maybe this will give them a more consistent look? Wish I could see the jersey in person but the one I bought my son said it may take until August...
