My sources intimated to me the Rams were interested in Byron Young and were considering taking him at #69 but decided to trade down and get him at #73. Once the Raiders took the wrong Byron Young (from Alabama), they traded down again from #73, grabbed the right Byron Young at #77 and got both Kobie Turner and Stetson Bennett in the deal. My sources might not be as embedded as Jake's but for a bottle of scotch and $20, they'll spill their guts!!!

I do believe they wanted Hooker - Detroit knew it and jumped ahead. Hence the Rams trading down right after. Just my gut feel.

Rams had a great draft. I give them an A. Got the best guard in the draft arguably best offensive lineman. I like this guys technique. His run blocking ability. I think Cam Akers is going to have a huge season get him in fantasy. This guy is a great run blocker. This guy is a great puller. Kind of like a Zach Martin.

The edge rusher outa Tennessee that’s what we needed fast speed edge rush power I think that’s what we have I like his ability. That’s what we add to Aaron Donald.

Stetson Bennett we finally get our franchise Quarterback. After Stafford retires he will learn the whole Rams offense master it from Stafford. Georgia guys you know they’re going to hang out together. He will learn from Mcvay. The new NFL little little guy Quarterbacks can make it. He’s smart. He can run that offense. He’s gonna get the ball out quick. He knows the stadium. He was great at Sofi. I’m sure the guys thought that and saw that. He’s a winner. Kind of reminds me of Brady when he won. Teams just passed on him. The Rams see him as thier guy they wanted. He’s mobile and he can make the plays with Cooper Kupp he will be fine. We finally have a backup Quarterback.

Byron Young. Auburn. This guy looks mean and Angry. Another Aaron Donald. Les Snead knew what he was doing. Great job this team can compete this season. And we got a Punter.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have just about emerged from their “eff them picks” heyday. Though their first-round pick, No. 6 overall, belonged to Detroit this year, they own all their picks in 2024, plus a slew of likely compensatory choices in the final two rounds, a product of Los Angeles signing no unrestricted free agents this offseason while losing at least five.

Acquiring star cornerback Jalen Ramsey was surely more fun than trading him for a third-round pick that became Tennessee outside linebacker Byron Young, but it’s time for the Rams to take a breath. They drafted 14 players this year, beginning with a guard. There was no big trade-up into the first round. The most buzz they generated was when they selected Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett in the fourth round.

“They are looking for their Brock Purdy,” an exec said. “The reality is, no one is going to notice the guard they took, but if Stetson Bennett can play, it’s going to be a Hall of Fame draft.”

In the meantime, the Rams are filling roster spots as cheaply as they can while Matthew Stafford and Aaron Donald remain on the payroll.

“What’s interesting about the Rams is, they are at the forefront of not sending scouts on the road, not having scouts or coaches at the combine, so when you see them select players you consider to be reaches for reasons beyond the film, you wonder if they overlooked things that might have been uncovered if they’d put more resources into the process,” an exec said.

There is no way to know what any team knows or does not know, but it’s an interesting thought, at least. The Rams have said they’re better off converting energy wasted traveling into studying game tape, which is by far the most important variable to them.
