They own them? Why? Because of the economic impact? Parking. Vending. Etc. 10 games a year? Man if your economy is dependant on that, your economy is in huge trouble. But seriously, I don't get the perception this team belongs to this city. Like when Modell took the Browns out of Cleveland, those fans and local politicians raised such a stink, suing the NFL and Modell, so the NFL promised them the next expansion team. And what do they have? A team that's been the armpit of the NFL since 1999.20 years. 95-224-1. They fought for that and at least the fans in Cleveland show up to watch them play. St. Louis? Why should the courts give them a dime? Because they paid millions to get a proposal together for a new stadium? That's the risk you take in business. But let's be honest; they really didn't give that effort until it was clearly too late (at least to everybody but those locals involved). So they should be rewarded because they spent money when they knew it wouldn't come to a good end? Or they banked on the NFL giving them the benefit of the doubt? Here's the reality. They did practically nothing to keep Bidwell's Cardinals in St. Louis and waited until it was too late to keep the Rams. And they should be rewarded financially for that? That's like being on public transportation during an accident and suing despite the fact you have no injuries. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. You won: game over. I’m getting part of my PSL money back and that makes me happy. In my book all Stan needs to do is 1) drop the claim to buy Rams Park for $1. 2) repay St. Louis for some/most of the money we spent on the North Riverfront stadium proposal. At bare minimum he should pay for the two rounds of redesigns the Rams requested.I think the City of Oakland has a much much bigger beef with the Raiders. So, whatever the lawsuit ends up costing Kroenke (damages/settlement, legal fees), it will be peanuts compared to the monetary benefit of moving the team. by PARAM 6 years 5 months ago Total posts: 13222 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame St. Louis NFL lawsuit likely headed to trial POST #177 For me I don't understand why these cities seem to believe these teams are their property.
