I really hope the Rams hire Brandon Stayley as thier defensive coordinator. He was a great defensive coordinator here and I think these DBs could learn a lot from him.

IMO you need to strike while the iron is hot. I expect it will take some time for the Lions to deal with that playoff collapse. They are the hunted as well now....

Yeah, but the offense will be fine as long they have health. Maybe Johnson figured....the Chargers job is taken; the Titans job is taken; would have liked to have worked with those QBs. Carolina? With Young? No thanks. That's taken anyway. Atlanta? With Ridder? No thanks. That's taken too. What's left? Seattle with Geno and Pete Carroll looking over my shoulder? Washington with that cluster fook? Howell is decent but is he the guy? I'll wait for a job to open up next year with a high draft pick. The NY Giants? Chicago? They might have Williams by then. Hell Jacksonville, after that epic collapse this year, could be firing Pederson mid season if the Jags don't take off like a rocket right away. Lawrence is there.

The guy was a hot prospect last year and he stayed in Detroit. Look what he did! Repeat that offensive performance and he'll be the #1 with a bullet on everybody's list. Hell if Campbell goes off the rails, he could end up with that job!

Yep but nothing is a given, bird in hand as they say. Goff could get taken out in the first game, you just never know. Again I also think the Lions will have a hangover from this season.

Then, there’s the flip side. Washington really liked Johnson. But this was no fait accompli. In fact, as I’d heard it, the Commanders were hitting a soft reset in their process this week, looking to go with in-person interviews, and open-minded to wherever those talks would take them. The Seahawks, who are getting to meet with Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald for the first time, are taking the same approach, too. And for all of his strengths, Johnson didn’t knock his first interview with Washington out of the park.

Add it all up, and it is understandable why Johnson would decide to go back to the Lions for another year. That said, there’s also risk: Young assistants don’t always stay hot in these situations, and as hot as Johnson’s name has been, he’s certainly not exempt from that.

8 openings: Panthers, Raiders, Chargers, Falcons, Commanders, Titans, Seahawks, Patriots.

Patriots already have their guy, very good chance Raiders stick with Pierce.

You figure Vrabel, Ben Johnson, Harbaugh and Bellichick are likely to get jobs.

That would leave two jobs open. Now obviously i'm spit balling. What if Dallas loses? Maybe they fire McCarthy and go for BB?

Point is, there are a lot more hot/qualified candidates than there are jobs. Not everyone is gonna get one...

Of my "likely to get jobs" only Harbaugh did and he seemed the least likely to me since he does this every year and then stays at Michigan.

So, as always, you never know. At least, i never do...
