Rams sign Demarcus Robinson WR - formerly with Baltimore and KC

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-news-round ... day-june-8

Dude is big, quick (not fast), really good routes. His resume is pretty impressive. You might see some of the young guys going bye bye or to the PS. MCV has now added 2 vet WRs to add to Kupp, Tutu, and Van Jeff. Everyone else including the 2 new vets will be scrapping for 3-5 roster spots.

Better be a good blocker if you want one of the 4-5 open spots.

Free agent signing? But it certainly isn't the headline grabbing signing that was Allen Robinson last year!!!! 8-)

50 games played the last 3 years, 118 receptions. And he does have a ton of experience.

Interesting we have like 15 WR's in camp. How many will we keep.

The thing that concerns me some is we dont have a punt returner, at least an established one.
I was hoping for a rookie like Xavier Smith would make the team as that guy. I think it is important for this team to have a weapon back there.

Kupp, Jefferson, Tutu, Puka, BenSkow are mostly likely 100% making the team.

We probably keep 7, so McClutch, Demarcus, Johnson, Xavier Smith, Trammell ....only two of these guys will make it....hmmm

Now can we sign some Edge where we really need the help??!?!

Don't forget Robinson is also a kick and punt returner...

KO position is no longer a major requirement with the new rules.

I see there is a four way fight for the 6 and 7 spot.

McClutch, Robinson, Johnson & Smith

I still like Xavier Smith for one of those spots,

Because he has blazing speed and is a very good PR.

Signing both vets in Robinson & Johnson, both have similar size to McClutch.

Smith: 5-9 174lb 4.38spd
McClutch 6-3 207lb 4.57spd
Robinson 6-1 203lb 4.59spd
Johnson 6-1 206lb 4.7spd

Are these signing is to light a fire under McClutch,

or will the RAMs tried to stash McClutch on the PS if he gets cut?

Johnson will be the odd man out, IMO.

He's not a a 1st round draft pick. He's a freakin UDFA from last year. If he needs a fire lit under his ass, cut him. .....I'd think. More than likely they want someone better than McCutch so they signed the 2 WR's.

It sounds like it was more about adding some return experience and experience to the WR group to set the practice tone while Kupp is out and them being careful with VJ.

I think McClutch makes it, but it will be very competitive in camp....
