Darryl Keith Henley (born October 30, 1966 in Los Angeles, California) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1989 draft from UCLA. In his career he played in 76 games and amassed 12 interceptions. Henley is currently serving a 41-year prison sentence for trafficking cocaine and attempting to murder the judge and a witness from his trial by hiring contract killers.[1]

A Bruin and a Ram.

Hey does anyone remember an endzone collision in a preseason game that took out two of our starting secondary? I think it was against Washington and Johnnie Johnson was one of them, maybe someone like Ivory Sully was the other player...

Bob Lee was going to be my pic/pick. For some reason, I always think Munson was #9 but I think that was Billy Wade.

Also, whenever I think of Munson I think of this book:
Image

"All-American quarterback, in his first year of professional football for the Los Angeles Rams, finds that it takes more than publicity to become a trusted team leader."

I've always had it in my head that that's who this book is about. It's a novel but anyone familiar with the players at the time would know who all the fictional characters were based on. It was published in 1961.

That is a picture of a real Rams player on the front but I'm not sure who.

EDIT: Well, it isn't about Munson or even Gabriel since they didn't arrive until '62.

Okay, the only guy who might fit is Frank Ryan:

I can't find any pictures of him with his helmet on(with the Rams) but even pre-photoshop, changing a 15 to a 16 on that book cover was doable. Ryan wasn't even close to an All-American in college though so this book must be more fiction than I'd imagined.

Billy Wade was a hot-shot coming out of college and was drafted #1 overall by the Rams so it's probably about him. He was traded from the Rams to the Bears in 1961 and this book came out in 1961...so, maybe they sat on it until Wade wasn't a Ram anymore.
