SWAdude wrote:I will have to rewatch that part maybe but it looked to me Snead was improving our ability to move things around in the draft for some gain while getting the players both he and McVay were wanting. TE and receiver sounds like a McVay preference.

Well Snead's approach to this all along is to find out what kinds of players the coaches want. They then, as a group, set up a board a few weeks before the draft, and if they have any sorts of issues, they get ironed out there. They then stick to the board when they pick (though the way they talk about it, the rankings are flexible enough that they see themselves as having options at each pick).

The entire draft looks like a McVay draft, offense and defense, in this sense. Watching interviews with these picks, they all had qualities in common--talking about mindset, character, personality. Everett has a lot in common in that respect with Kupp and they both have a lot in common with Ebukam etc. So it looks like McVay made clear what kind of player he likes.

But McVay doesn't do the scouting, he doesn't know the players as well as Snead, and Snead does the picking.

In fact in a certain sense you can put it this way---it's a sign of how well Snead has done his job if they DO look like McVay picks. That means Snead is good at scouting out that kind of player and McVay is good at communicating the kind of thing he is looking for.

It;s like a different GM for a different team I heard once in an interview---he said, I may not give the coach the player he wants, but I do give him the KIND of player he wants.

Amazon prime video is total garbage.
Down at the beach we don't have the strongest wifi signal but have no issue with Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu etc.
can easily get on amazon to buy shit but can't get on prime video unless signal is 6 bars out of 5.
What a waste.
And can't use data only wifi? Good grief
Looks like I'll be waiting for next summer when NFL channel picks it up and I can stream easily with terrible signal....

Watched every episode and really enjoyed the "behind the scenes" view of what goes into coaching an NFL team. Without question the players loved Coach Fisher and clearly felt bad about letting him down, but it is apparent to me the the Fisher culture was a bit too "country club and folksy."

Now, let me first say that I am not a prude and can curse like a sailor, but the constant yelling of MF at nearly every situation (read Greg Williams) can become counter intuitive when trying to lead grown men. I certainly have no idea if McVay, Wade et al have a similar style but I hope the new staff instructs, leads and generally imparts a more cerebral attitude to all facets of the team.

Either Fisher was a tremendous actor or truly didn't see his termination coming, but in there lies one of the problems. He couldn't see what everyone else did and that he was a dead man walking. Truly hoping for a complete culture change and hoping McVay leads us to the promise land.

I don't have a problem with the stability of Amazon Prime Video. In fact it's one of the best for me.

DIRECTV streaming is pretty much useless and Netflix is starting to have a lot of problems.

Sometimes it might be what we're watching it on. I found Hulu was unstable on Android but good on iOS while the reverse is true for Netflix.

Here are a few thoughts from me after binge watching the show, SPOILER ALERT:

1. Jeff Fisher is indeed a players' coach and this show if anything, helped Fisher's future chances of being a head coach assuming he can find capable offensive help.

2. I can definitely see why we are constantly leading the league in terms of penalties now sigh... ("crank it up even more")

3. Case vs. Jared debate: I guess we can all drop the conspiracy theories now that Fisher was coerced by the owner to start Jared.

4. Speaking of Jared, watching this show made me feel a lot more optimistic about him for next season for some reason. I think the show really highlighted his progression through the games and you can see him starting to become more and more of a leader and his comfort level being the starting QB.

5. Not sure if it's just the editing or what not, throughout 7 episodes, I don't think I once saw Boras talk about the intricacies of what he wants out of the plays and such but I heard a whole bunch from McVay in just one episode. McVay just looks and sounds the part of a proper offensive coach.

6. I didn't think it was possible but this show actually made me much more excited about the upcoming season now.

7. I truly appreciated the type of bonds that the players showed throughout the season, especially in such a tough season. Sad to see a lot of those players gone on to different teams but again optimistic to see what's coming this season.

Great post!! I was holding back to commenting on the show until most had a decent chance to binge watch. :)

You really nailed my thoughts as well. LA is an attractive destination for players and coaches. The Kendricks were hoping they were in their forever home and only months from then they would be in Green Bay. Fortunately that is pretty much where Lance is from. Will Hayes will be happy with Miami. Plenty of mermaids in those waters as well.

This series pushed why I really liked Fish as a person. He is a good guy. I felt bad for the players but at the same time was very pleased with how they also owned the situation. That was HUGE and something that will stick with them. McVay will get their love as well. LOVED the way he spoke to anyone and everyone. Tons of mutual respect from McVay. Not much from Greg Williams. I know you got to pump them up. But screaming vulgarities that often I question the level of motivation you actually produce. Eventually it just gets tuned out.

Loved the series and just another addition to this incredible ride of returning our LA RAMS back to our town.

GO RAMS!!!

Boras didn't teach offense. He just had a projector show motivation pictures and he thought that would help them score more points.
