I'm actually a Fisher guy. I think he's taken a mediocre team and turned them into a playoff caliber team. The D is one of the best in the league and they young talent is starting to come together.

Look at the Bengals. There were fans calling for Lewis' head the past few years. They're undefeated and look like one of the better teams in the NFL. I think there is something to be said about stability. Panicking every 3 years and starting over isn't the way to go. This team is going to get better. Remember they are still the youngest team in the NFL and were on the road short handed.

I vote they stay the course and let Fisher finish what he's started.

If Fisher would have brought in, or at least even gone shopping for, an established OC, then I'd be right there with you. But his stubbornness on Offense has sent me off the Fisher bus.

I completely agree AltiTude. No getting better changing coaches, unless Belichick or Payton becomes available. OC not withstanding.

However, there is no defending the go for 2 call. That extra point could have been the difference.

It seemed like nobody wanted the OC job maybe because of the possible move. Fisher will get this right and we will be glad we stuck with him. Again, look at the best teams in the league and you will notice the stability in the coaching for the most part. Life is tough as a NFL coach and you need to stick to what you believe in. Constant change in a coaching staff will bring us right back to where we were at the bottom of the league. It's obvious this team is getting better and firing the coach would only set us back IMO.

Dick, I saw with my own eyes how bad the coaching carousel worked. I am a believer in consistency.
Who would you hire out of who might be available?

I guess I now have confidence that Snead will find us a competent HC and supporting coaching staff. It's a very different situation than our last HC search. Our team is much better and we'll be playing in LA. I think we'll be able to attract extremely competent coaches, especially at the salary level ESK is willing to pay.

And I also agree that Fisher will immedately get hired elsewhere.

I don't know "who". But then, I'm not paid millions to make these decisions, so I'm not up to speed on likely candidates. But Snead must have an excellent shortlist. At least, I'd be very surprised if he does not.

Yeah but they can't win a playoff game. There were plenty of fans calling for Lewis' head the past couple of years. Again, they look like one of the best teams in the league this year. We will have to wait and see if they win a playoff game but sticking with their coach has been a good thing.

Teams that panic and keep changing coaches are the teams that never seem to get it right. Look at Miami firing their coach....SF letting Harbaugh go....Lions have been rebuilding since 1954 other than the Wayne Fontes era. It's a huge list of teams with knee jerk moves but look at the teams that are successful and you will see they stuck with their man. Pittsburgh stuck with Cower after a mediocre start and he rewarded them with a couple of Super Bowls.

Stranger,, I only ask because if we are cutting Fisher we need it to be an upgrade. Sure are a lot of middle of the pack teams, I don't see the division winners cutting their coaches loose and the bottom tier (like the EJD) aren't who we'd want any way.
To me it's just too risky to start over now. Get offensive minded and hire a stud OC. Wasn't Turner recently available?
We also need WR's that can get open and our QB needs to read faster.
