Not to be too cynical but Stafford also signed a big extension recently. If he retires, he forfeits a lot of that money...

One thing less to be concerned about at least.

Just reading up on this.

Although I would obviously be sad to see McVay go, if he wants a break - he should take it and not let it affect the Rams.

I do not buy into the "just needs some time off" and will come back maybe. That is not a good scenario for the team. We not Me.

Also, I hope this is not going to be drawn out. Go or stay. And if he goes we need to get the best coach available to win, not put us in a holding pattern to see if he wants to come back later.

Having just watched this my gut reaction is his wife wants him to step away and he probably will.

I put very little stock in my gut reaction to anything. I'm wrong all the time. And i certainly hope this is one of those times...

The only correct answer is "Yes, dear."

Stafford is obviously committed, he had years of failure and knows success is awesome and difficult to achieve.

I think McVay is very good at what he does, but "We, Not Me" is easily spoken but he does bot represent that. He should say "Hell yes, I'm coming back, I signed a contract, I'm young, and we're going to succeed".

Anything short of that is weak, PERIOD. He lost my admiration.

I was referring to when this all began. I get your point now, you are referring to what he should do now...now that he has aired all his laundry to anyone who will listen.

He should bail. Clearly, his heart is not 100% on coaching. As others have stated, if you're considering retirement, no matter how brief, then your commitment is going to be suspect. It isn't fair to the organization and players to be anything less than your best effort.

How does McVay even leave the house each morning?
