Thank goodness the Red Sox didn't come out of the blocks on fire or we would be in a big hole already. This series could do us some damage tho.
Have to stay afloat until we get Hicks and Stanton back. Severino is gonna be a while and who knows what Andujar will be able to do this season.

No way they sign Keuchal. He must be asking for a lot and if they sign him they will go over the next luxury tax threshold. They even have to make a decision on Gio Gonzalez who they signed as insurance for injuries. They have to re-structure his contract if they wanna bring him up. They are right up against the next tier of the luxury tax line and we know how much they care about that.

They went through some serious motions tonight too. Wasted a great effort by Eovaldi. They now have 13 losses. It took them until May 14th last year to get 13 in the L column. They have 6 wins. Last year they had 7 on April 7th. Brand new season!

Only a 2 game series? That is strange.
KC tonight to get to .500

Last year the Yankees were 9-9 on April 20 and they went on to win 100. To be .500 with the guys they have on the IL is an accomplishment. And the plus side of all those injuries is those guys shouldn't be worn down come September/October.

The thing with Gio is he had NO other offers and it's his decision to opt out. He could just take the salary he's receiving and wait em out. In which case, there would be no hurry or worry when to bring him up.

That was one enjoyable experience man. To see a Yankee starting pitcher good deep into the game and keep putting up zeros and dominating the Red Sox. Sight for sore eyes.

Paxton was amazing. He's a Yankee now.

I shit on Gardy a lot but damn that grand slam got me off the couch man. Vino was lit again.

I am not a big fan of the way they celebrated with the strobe light and the fog machine after the game. I think we might wanna hold off on that until we get to .500. Lmao.

We all shit on Gardy a lot and rightfully so. As it stands right now, when Hicks and Stanton get back they better have Frazier in left. The kid is earning it. Gardy? He hasn't earned it with 1 grand slam against Boston.

Back to reality. German is going to be a stud. Just didn’t have his A+ game today. Still, 9k’s and O walks is pretty impressive.
The lineup? Ugh. 1/3 of the lineup is AAA worthy

What a let down. German was ok. The offense was not. SMH man.

Boone's lineup was weird too. Felt like a very "we'll give them this game" lineup.
