:shock2:

Is this correct? The deal just got better.

seems that rodgers does well regardless of the head coach or system, he won a super bowl in mccarthy's system, no? of course elite, shoe-in hall of fame qbs tend to do that, excel, that's why they're elite shoe-in hall of famers, hopefully such a qb isn't required for mcvay to be successful, or is that what we're saying?

He would need to win 2 SBs and light up that stats and wins here to be a hall of fame guy. Too many garbage years in D Town.

You're prob right, McVay could have had more success with a middle of the road QB if one had been on hand. But it seems like they had a chance to go after an elite guy and dump a contract on a guy who's a bottom half of the league performer without the McVay system to prop him up.

I want Goff to succeed (cause why root for someone to suck if they're not playing directly against you) but I think we're liable to see more 2016 Goff in Detroit than 2017-18. The McVay/Shannahan system covers up a lot of sins.

goff will probably keep his joint in l.a. or buy a spread in northern cal, close to home, and buy crash pad in detroit, i think a lot of these guys do that, isn't that what gurley did?

I think it's pretty safe to say that if a QB has a good year, he had a decent O-Line in front of him. I doubt Detroit's O-Lines were twice as bad.

When the RAMS picked up Sullivan and Whitworth in 2017 we all saw Goff going from an 0-7 QB to a Pro Bowl QB. In 2018, that O-Line was even better, gelled together, stayed healthy and helped Goff and the team get to the Super Bowl. The last two years the line has fallen apart, been inconsistent and we watched Goff struggle. If Stafford has a good year in 2021 it's because we fixed the O-Line issues. I'm 100% sure of it.

Holmes takes Lions GM job and we get two 3rd round comp picks.

Then he trades for Goff.

Pretty big impact for someone who left.
