Exactly.

A few hundred fans who brave the rain to say how much they hate Stan Kroenke while the EJD is nearly half-empty on game day is probably not going to impress the NFL very much...
Actually, it's got nothing to do with the fans who show up. Just like LA, St. Louis, Cleveland, Baltimore, etc.

This is about the owner and what they want. Kroenke wants to own and control the venue for his football team. Just like his basketball, hockey, soccer, etc. teams. IMO, there's no doubt that he wanted that in St. Louis and the powers that be wanted otherwise. So, now he's going to move somewhere where he will own and control things and it happens to be in a much more lucrative market.

St. Louis has shown that they don't know how to accommodate an NFL owner. St. Louis could have what Arizona has with the Cardinals and it looks like they will soon "could have had" what Inglewood will have with the Rams. But they chose to screw things up.

They were probably 1500 people there according to the media saying it was a sellout limiting the place to 1500 because Oakland and San Diego have smaller venues. That's why there were so many empty seats.

I thought the fans in St Louis did a good job. They didn't say anything the NFL didn't already know but they did a good job none the less. Do I think it will make a difference? No.

Basically Grubman reiterated what I've been saying for a while now.. Stan sending Demoff to negotiate for him was just fine for the NFL and wont hurt him in the slightest (and he mentioned several times that Demoff/Stan hasn't discouraged the task force, which can't be said for Fabiani/Spanos), and that the guidelines for relocation are flexible.

Bingo! That's one thing people fail to accept, because it's Demoff and not Kroenke at the table means nothing to the NFL or the owners. Some people can't get that simple concept through their heads but it's a big point that Grubmann has said many times.

Also they can't accept the fact that their precious relocation guidelines state a proposal have to be acceptable to all parties. Just because they're cooking the books and not allowing their citizens to vote on the funding doesn't mean Stan has to accept their proposal. Again Peacock and Blitz fail to analyze who the owner they're pitching deals to is. He is a property owner not somebody who rents/leases.

You're right, nothing is going to impress the NFL at these dog and pony shows. But even within that context 1,500 fans decrying their victimhood while attendance is so poor is pretty weak.

I suppose it's possible Mark Davis could be moved by the Oakland town hall but certainly St. Louis and San Diego will fall on very deaf ears.

But St. Louis fans got to make their case to the NFL and i'm sure they feel good about it. In the end, the NFL looks better for having given them the opportunity to be heard, futile as it almost certainly was...
