It's almost a guarantee there will be a fair amount of hate for whatever the new uniforms are. It's Ferragamos or bust for a lot of people.

And i think that's one reason they don't want to play in throwbacks all the time, will hurt the new uniforms by comparison when they come out whereas the current color scheme is gonna make whatever comes next seem like paradise for a lot of us...

Speaking of uniforms, I remember last year we were able to vote on which game to wear the throwbacks. Now that we are hosting prime time games, I would think they want to wear them for those. For the last two years, vote or no vote, it's been the Seahawks and Niners.

why do folks insist on using dated photos as examples of what the "ferragamo's" would look like if the rams chose to sport them today? why do folks continue to pretend that those blue/yellow unis of yesteryear are a viable option? funny how folks rarely use recent photos of the blue/yellow throwbacks as an example, worn as recently as last season, which is what we would be looking at. anyhoo, fingers crossed that whatever they settle on will be a home run.

speaking of uniforms, how long before the nfl jumps on jersey advertising? the thought makes me shudder...

With CP shifting its sponsorship dollars after the Grey Cup, the Canadian Football League goes looking for the next brand to live over players' hearts.

The Canadian Football League has opened bidding on its jersey patch to brands as its current deal with Canadian Pacific is set to expire following the Grey Cup next month.

The league considers the patch, which appears on the right side of every player’s jersey, to be one of its most visible sponsorship assets across all 81 of its regular, pre- and post-season games.

“We’re looking for a deeper, more integrated relationship, which we have had and will continue to have with Canadian Pacific,” said Tyler Mazereeuw, VP of corporate sponsorships for the CFL. Depending on the brand category, Mazereeuw said the deal could include a community or social overlay, or even inclusion on jerseys sold at retail.

Although the jerseys of the MLB, NFL and NHL leagues remain ad-free, the NBA began featuring some sponsored jerseys last year and will bring them league-wide next season. As part of the program, the Toronto Raptors’ jerseys will don a Sun Life logo for the first time. But Mazereeuw said these kinds of sponsorship deals don’t typically include ownership of the post-season, as it does in the CFL.

The league estimates that its patch garners millions of media impressions via highlights, social, print and online coverage, as well as organic fan-generated content. Last year’s TV ratings showed league games drew an average of 553,000 viewers on TSN and 130,000 on RDS in Quebec. The CFL and its teams generate 11 million social media engagements per season, and it says that more than 65% of that social content includes imagery of players in their jerseys.

Mazereeuw said the CFL is open to working with local or international brands as part of the multi-year deal.

“What we don’t want is to have a revolving door of brands on our jerseys,” he said.

Home improvement retailer Rona was the first brand to sign on for a regular-season jersey patch sponsorship in 2005, a deal that lasted nearly a decade. Canadian Pacific has owned the patch for the last three seasons.

The CFL currently works with a mix of Canadian and international sponsors, including Adidas, Pepsi, Nisan, AGS, Kal Tire, and Shaw.

The end of the bidding process will be decided in the coming months; however, the league expects to have the new patch in place in time for the 2018 pre-season in June.

This. They are afraid that the new ones won't be as accepted. Tough to beat the old uni's

It's true that the shoulder horn no longer works with the shorter sleeves so the Ferragamo's should look a but different. But to have not taken the chance was CS of them. What they left us with is horrible.

To bad they can't just lose the gold and change the tone of the blue to match the pants in the meantime.
The every 5 year rule would screw up the stadium opening unless the league could see their way fit to make that exception in lieu of passing on the throwback at relocation.

Nobody can be so blind that the can't see one of the hottest teams in the league looks hideous.

I love the Rams.

I love the Ferragamos.

In that order.

This entire team is smart. They will make a smart choice that I will buy.

I will embrace this years uniform as I did last year. Getting rid of the hideous gold was a victory in itself. If we won the SB this year and this uniform went to Canton, I will be more than good with this.

In ten years this uniform will remind us how loyalty has paid back in spades.

Rams life is so good right now. A two year high and still going.

Rams can wear the throw-backs in the play-offs if they want to.

It's only the SB where it's currently not allowed. If they make it, whose to say they can't petition to have an exception?

The shorter sleeves not working with the "Ferragamo's" is an easy fix: Put the "horn" around/under the shoulder/armpit of the jersey-closer to the body- not on the sleeve, then do something cool on what's left of the "sleeve"
