No man, we need to beat the best to be the best. I want our guys to go into GB and bust open the Packers lip.
OK, Aaron Rodgers is going to be a bitch. Let's see how we counter. This a big game for the Fisher-Williams defensive brain trust vs M McCarthy.
It's a chess match and the Rams haven't fared well in recent years, but this season seems different. Let's see.

I think we are about to turn the corner too. Come of age. But I would rather stick it to the Packers and start that winning streak into the bye, last week.

Run Gurley all day long and keep it out of the hands of Aaron Rodgers.

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

I know it's not P.C. and not even safe to say in today's NFL, but F-it:

The quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard.
Aaron Rodgers, nice guy, but you get one step after he releases the ball to kill him and Rams need to execute.
He likes to run too, if the D can kill him before the slide, they need to terminate him . . . terminate, with extreme prejudice.
Yeah, he's slippery, but so is Magic-Water-Wussle-Wilson . . . .

The trick, obviously, is to make him pay, without drawing 15. Rams seem to have been decently disciplined on defense lately.

Cry Havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!

Gregg Williams in 2010:

Gregg Williams suggests the Saints want to injure Manning

Posted by Mike Florio on January 28, 2010, 8:48 AM EDT

During their march through the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints have battered and bruised (and nearly broken) two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks — Kurt Warner of the Cardinals and Brett Favre of the Vikings.

They’re now setting their sights on a third man whose oversized forehead eventually will be memorialized in bronze.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams recently told a Nashville radio station that the Saints plan to rattle Colts quarterback Peyton Manning by hitting him whenever they can, and that the goal is to knock him out of the game.

“This guy’s got a great clock in his head,” Williams told 104.5 The Zone, via ESPN.com. “The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we’re going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him and when we do get to him we’re going to have to make sure he gets a couple ‘remember me’ shots when we get there.”

The Saints applied several “remember me” shots to Favre on Sunday, prompting many a Vikings fan to utter a phrase that for broadcast television purposes would be edited to sound like “forget you.” One such hit to Favre’s legs didn’t draw a flag, even though NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira admitted last night that a roughing the passer penalty should have been called.

And Williams won’t be reeling in his troops for the Super Bowl. Instead, it sounds like he’s willing to risk a few 15-yard walk-offs if it means that Manning eventually will be carted off the field.

“When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior’s mind, he doesn’t play all out,” Williams said. “If it happens, it happens. And
the only thing you’d like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn’t get back up and play again.”

You hope he doesn’t get back up and play again. (We wonder what Archie thinks about his former team’s objectives?)

In other words, “We’ll gladly trade a penalty or two if it means that we get to see Curtis Painter instead of Peyton Manning.”

In other words, the NFL should consider fining not only the players when dirty hits are applied to quarterbacks, but also their coaches.

Hey, hey, hey, ancient history . . . . wayyyyyyyy too long ago to matter.
This is the NEW kinder, gentler Gregg Williams -- he'd never do anything like that today.
C'mon!
I'm really surprised at you Elvis! How could anyone have such mean thoughts in today's NFL?

Well you certainly can't publicly say that kind of thing anymore.

Though i have to think GW was at least partly just trying to get into Manning's head before the biggest game of them all.

New Orleans really did beat the crap out of Kurt Warner and Brett Favre that year in the playoffs...

When I attend Ram game a complete other side of my personalty comes out. People who have never gone to a game with me cannot believe what they see or hear from me. I most certainly have said the above and much much worse :)

Ha - you guys are great! Love it.

My guy HATES watching Rams games with me as he says I am too crazy.

Little off topic, but let me say (and sorries to Mokler) - it is just awesome to be in Philly and discussing Bradford at bars. These fans are not quiet about their opinion and all I can say is....I understand.

I am soooooooo hungry for our Rams to be home. Everytime I come to Philly I am reminded what a real football town is like. It is so different than St. Louis, which sucks. I think I've now discussed Bradford more in two days than I ever have in any trip to St. Louis.

And, here we go in the morning in Lambeau.....Go Rams!

CBS chose it as a crossover game.

NFC CROSSOVER GAMES ONCE AGAIN ADDED TO NFL ON CBS SCHEDULE

In addition to the AFC package of games, THE NFL ON CBS’s broadcast schedule once again features NFC games highlighted by Carolina-Dallas (Thanksgiving Day, 11/26); Chicago-Seattle (9/27); St. Louis-Green Bay (10/11), as well as other NFC Crossover flex games to be determined later in the season.
