Yeah, you can get away with it in college when you can out talent someone, but in the NFL, it's more an even field. Notice his offenses are getting progressively worse since he started coaching? His dumping of talented players just shows he's arrogant as well. He'll be back coaching college in a couple years.

Yea I can buy your line of reasoning bro. I see a lot of similarities between him and Martz in the ego aspect. As the proverb sayeth pride goeth before a fall I think Kelly could find himself in the same boat Martz ended up in. Which now after the way it turned out for Martz he seems more humble and mature than before and Martz has unretired and did take a interviews for the Browns OC job. I think Kroenke should unite with a old coach who helped bring him a championship in Stan's year 5 of being a owner of the Rams. A move to LA should be a new start for Kroenke and Martz :)

I could see MM as the OC (only) in LA. As long as he and Fish could swim in the same pool. Agreed MM got humbled a bit. That all said, there are some who believe his play calling won't work anymore since the league figured out the GSOT and with no Warner under center, it never really worked as well anyway.

passes beyond 10 yards, through week 2:

bradford: 26.1% completion rate, 0 tds, 3 picks, 10.9 qb rating
foles: 62.5% completion rate, 2 tds, 0 picks, 145.8 qb rating

yeah, really bad qb'ing... tough to run the ball when the d crowds he box because it's not worried about getting attacked downfield, and despite the urban legend that is "sam the pinpoint accurate passer", that's simply not the case, never has been, not at the nfl level, he's enormously inconsistent when it comes to ball placement and touch, always has been, which has contributed to his dropped pass numbers... also, sam is one of the least pressured qbs through week 2 according to pff, he's been pressured on just 23% of his dropbacks, well below the league average, well below foles... and has always been the case, he's been horrible when pressured, 40% completion rate, 29.0 qb rating ,through 2 weeks of football...

Why did Kelly push for this trade? In hindsight, i don't get it. I mean, while Kelly maybe arrogant, but I don't believe the man has a low football IQ. Can one of the better football minds provide me with a rational explantion for this? Thank you :)

honestly, i think chip was flat out snookered by fish & snead, i think chip was given the impression that there was a lot first round trade interest in sam and chip felt he could parlay that interest into a mariota move, but i don't think there was much interest, and if iirc the browns decided to just keep their 2 first rounders, maybe when sam said he wouldn't accept a trade to the browns, something chip finally realized and was forced to claim sam was the guy he really wanted. whatever the case, i'm guessing chip's pretty happy right about now that sam decided to decline an eagles extension in favor of playing out the year and hitting the open market, at least that would seem to be the case after 2 games...

I'm actually starting to feel bad for Bradford and Eagles fans. This could really get ulgy for all of them.

Of course, Chip will be okay, as he'll just slide back into the collegiate ranks and get another $multi-million contract.

Enough with your shit-stirring okay? Take that crap to one of the myriad other boards that thrive on it.

You and Aeneas1 are both welcome here as are both of your takes on Sam Bradford...
