The owners aren't going to choose a plan with question marks simply bc of a popularity contest. Are you kidding me? This is business. You don't mix emotions with business.

The best plan and best chance of success is Inglewood. The owners know that. This is LA. The owners can't screw it up bc they want to do a favor for one guy. That's being selfish. For the good of the league and success in LA they will pick the best plan. The NFL is a business don't everrrr forget that.

Remember, when it comes right down to it, Kroenke doesn't need their approval. They know that.

Also, how many hundreds of millions of dollars will they have to loan Spanos to get the dump built? They changed their minds when the Rams moved over a few hundred million so I really don't see them just coughing it up when they don't have to.

I wonder if Kraft is out of favor right now? Seems to me that if Jerruh Jones and Robert Kraft are backing Kroenke, it's probably going to get done.

Just re-listened to Fred's replay at 7, including the Vinny interview.

So Fred said Inglewood is the definite choice of the league offices but mentioned 2 sources that said that there are owners who would

"err on the side of Carson."

I'm really not sure why Fred used that phraseology but it seemed a deliberate word choice and an intentional take off of the idiom

"err on the side of caution".

err on the side of caution
(idiomatic) To act in the least risky manner in a situation in which one is uncertain about the consequences.

Two sources? I wonder if this was one of them ;) :

Vinny said nothing has changed except that more owners (e.g., the ones who really couldn't give a crap about all of this) are paying attention now.

The last part of Fred's replay hour included various interview clips, including his replay with Chris Meany -- Fred said the "no matter what" stuff. Meany just said "right." Yeah, I'm not so happy with Fred's spin about what Meany said.

Adding to BRT above -- Inglewood is still on track, proceeding full speed ahead, and taking additional steps.

To sum it all up, to me: Friday!

Anyhow, Stranger nailed it IMO:
what we're seeing is a PR campaign built upon double-speak in order to keep everyone's wallets open for as long as possible

-----------

So conspiracy theories? I like to play with the idea of conspiracy theories (they can be fun!) -- what if the NFL brought the Chargers and Raiders together and initiated and sponsored the whole Fake Carson Stadium thing? Just roll with that for a half second . . . .

Meh there's nothing to see here. It's all to get more money and effort flowing from San Diego and Oakland, mostly Oakland. I don't care what anybody says or does until the next owners meeting.

I concur here seemed to be pro Carson until after the owner's meeting in August and all the St. Louis people felt the sky was falling. In the end the Raiders are a joke and Spanos is broke from a Rich man's perspective....Money always wins and IMO many articles were written about now the Rams are good and they're moving so the NFL wants to temper that to sell tickets in the Gateway City.

Remember this is like an election some thought that Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney actually had a chance that's Inglewood and Carson and all of us know how it's going to end so enjoy the season with the young team (hopefully) and soon ESK be loading up the truck and moving to Beverly.

And all the while, absolutely NOTHING going in and out of the Carson site. I sat and talked to the gate guard Wednesday for about 20 minutes, he knows about the stadium plans and the remediation that still needs to be done, but no indication by his superriors that any of that is in the future. I don't know if that means anything except that nothing is going on at the former landfill.

I believe there will be plenty of misinformation put out by certain parties in order to keep hope up in certain cities. Last thing the NFL needs is 25,000 empty seats in a stadium if one of those teams has a home game in the playoffs. Or a prime time game with half the seats empty.

"Lying, cheating, hurting, it's all you seem to do." Robert Plant

I am astonished at all of these multi millionaires and the biggest sports league in the world (along with their minions) bald face lying to the media, to the citizens of major cities on a national level, and to the faithful fans of the teams in question with such ease and frequency. This whole process is actually souring me on the NFL.

This needs to come to an end one way or the other so I can power wash the memory of this out of my brain.
I've gotten to the point where I don't ever want to hear the words Saint Louis again.
Spanos and his Fab-olicy-obles team are a simply a disgusting bunch of douchebags.

Color me distempered !

So let me ask this, since you guys are more in the know.
Since Spanos has made it clear that he wont deal with Kroenke, what's stopping Stan from dealing with Davis? Its the perfect scenario for the Raiders really, they dont have money and Stan does. So if Davis realizes that Spanos would leave him in the lurches in a minute, why not do whats best for his team and make the deal?
Raiders and Rams back in LA?
Eff Spanos
