That will just be another stupid mistake on the Rams if Kyle is awesome with the Niners and Rams struggle. Or the weather I guess.

I've always kind of liked the Chargers and certainly never had any hate towards them.

If Charger fans feel the same way about the Rams, could work...

The Chargers are my favorite AFC team. Might be my 2nd favorite team period. Still don't think they are coming.

I've always disliked the Chargers. Now, I'll dislike them even more.

RedAlice wrote:Absolutely. I have several Charger fan friends who seem to prefer the Rams to the Chargers if they move, as they are pretty pissed off at the Chargers.

And I certainly hope competing with the Chargers would put the Rams marketing plan into a higher gear.

Hopefully Kyle doesn't go to the Chargers now.

HopHead Ram wrote:Interesting thought. With the Chargers coming to LA, I actually think we now have a great opportunity to further increase our fanbase. There are now a lot of lost ex-Chargers fans looking for a new team. A Charger fan switching to the Raiders doesn't seem likely ( but there will be some because the Raiders are winning). Some will revert back to the team of their childhoods if they were a transplant, some will drop the NFL but some will probably look to the Rams as the next closest team to start rooting for, especially if it makes Spanos look bad. If I am the Rams, I am adding the SD market today to the marketing efforts.

The Rams have had a pretty suspect PR strategy since arriving home. It's like they are stuck in that STL midwest, smaller market mentality and it had bitten them in the ass repeatedly. The first year back in LA clearly did not go as scripted. What should have been a triumphant return home became the butt of way too many jokes. All that being said, the Chargers are even worse when it comes to PR and it is going to be almost impossible to overcome because I do not think they truly understand what their perception is in LA and now what their perception is in SD. How do you build excitement for a product with 1) a fanbase that doesn't really want you and 2) a fanbase that you just abandoned after 50+ years of loyalty and is probbaly looking to other teams?

So lets make sure we welcome our fallen brothers and sisters. All are welcome in the Ramily.

Great post. Kroenke should send his PR team down south and invite displaced fans. I know a radio station was talking about picking up Cowboys or Raiders broadcasts because they know the Chargers rating are going to crash. They both have nationwide broadcasts.

If the Rams put out ads inviting Chargers fans to be part of a Southern California fan base, it could be huge. Something like... We welcome you no matter where you are from. If you're from Beverly Hills or Chula Vista we are building a family and you are all invited. I'm into football for the fun and tailgating. Win or Lose the Stadium experience has been fun.

The Chargers have always been meh to me. Never pulled for them, never rooted against them. My second team is the Raiders. More because they're in Oakland than the time they had in LA. The Chargers have never been on my radar one way or the other.

Well if they are coming, then let's go get 'em.

Reality is that as pissed off as every Chargers fan is right now, that feeling will be different come September. At least for some. It might make them madder or they might have grown used to the fact and love them to much to give up on them.. Confusing times.
