Stop tipping run direction by formation. Defenses are keying on our upback or TE in motion to the strongside. We run to this side about 99% of the time.

Its impossible to block, by being outmanned and defenses slanted to the direction we are running the ball.

Start using Harkey as a FB. Even Benny as a FB.

Start Running Counters. I really want this option. Start getting defenses to overpersue and use Gurley backside. Pretty much need a FB for this.

Seems like Cignetti had a better design than Boras with the counters and windback plays that played Austin and Gurley off each other. Gurley's best games all with Cignetti.

Running game is worse, Groh is passing game coordinator, Boras has plenty of room to improve...

Even with the occasional big plays, I still see teams regularly stack 8 to 9 in the box to stop Gurley. What the heck do we have to do to get Gurley going geez...

Have a QB with arm strength that will stop teams from stacking 8,9, and 10 guys in the box. I believe Goff has that arm strength.

Every time Keenum throws a ball that must travel 10 yds from the line of scrimmage the Duck Dynasty crew gets their rifles out to shoot it down. Could be dangerous

I think a LOT more play action passing especially on first down would go a long way in helping us out. I cannot believe the % of running plays on first down. Everyone is teeing of on Todd which should make for some easy targets amongst our T/E's. Speaking of which, where the hell has Higby been? He looked pretty damn good in preseason.

Exactly, We need Keenum to consistently hit on the play action pass plays especially in the early downs. It will freeze the backers in space just for a moment as they diagnose run vs pass. The more we convert, the more it gets in their head and the less they will crash down to fill the gap for fear of a TE or WR running a route where they were supposed to be.

Isn't this just Zac Stacy all over again? Bursts on to the scene, has a handful of good games, gets a stud label and then never recaptures the magic.

And to a lesser extent, Daryl Richardson looked the part his 1st year, collapsed his 2nd, and Tre Mason looked damn good his rookie year too, and we know what has happened there.
I'm hoping its all coincidence but man there is a history there

Fresh rookie legs, no film on them? Mason, Stacy, Richardson all bummed another RB got drafted = self inflicted mental set backs? O-line changes, OC changes, schedule changes? Opponents figuring out our QB's and are comfortable crowding the LOS? All sorts of factors make history.

I think the difference is that the "stud" label was only coming from the fans with Stacy whereas the entire league this time around can see there is something special with Gurley.

Let's hope he gets on track soon...

Gurley has been facing 8 men in the box for the last 4 weeks against strong front fours and that's why he hasn't been able to rush as effectively as we might like. On the other hand it has been very beneficial in giving Keenum some open receivers to pass to. Keenum has passed for nearly 700 yards and 4 TD's the last 3 games so, teams are going to have to start adjusting and shouldn't be stacking the box as heavily. Although, Buffalo has had a good defense look for Gurley to have a good game this week by getting more attempts due to Buffalo's DB's being able to cover a little tighter. I will predict Gurley will have over 100 yrds Rushing and 40 receiving which will be a warm up for him into the following week against Detroit.
