Fisher has been very upfront about it and has never done coach doublespeak in regards to Goff starting. I think they saw the intangibles that they were looking for, This kid is mentally tough and has the physical tools that they are looking for. I think they knew it would be an adjustment. Goff is not going to be able to rely on his legs like some of the other young rookie QBs that have come before him that had some initial success. He is a pocket passser that moves well in the pocket. That is why I feel the comparisons to the Mariotta's or Newton's are not accurate. Those guys could tuck and run to move the chains, Goff...not so much.
