It will be interesting to see how this evolves. Maybe in the future cities will demand to build the stadiums themselves instead of trying to get the owners and NFL to pitch in...

If the old system is what they want the should be pinching themselves by the ease and stability of Inglewood, along with the perfect team. A kinda big no brainer. Still if they are all used to the old style deal, StL is only 1/2 way there and the Charaiders better hope everything goes as planned.

It's a month away from the owners making a decision and is Carson real? Are they doing anything at all?
StL isn't looking extremely solid on paper even with their 1/2 price offer. Still in court.
One month.
You have to imagine they are paying attention now and formulating / reviewing their positions. So I expect Peacock or Policy to drop their bombshell pressers shortly before the meeting to give pause and no time to rebut. tic tic
Still seems like something is being planned out by the NFL. They are moving timelines and holding special meetings about LA. Something is going on. Is it because our owner knocked them dead with the perfect storm scenario and they are expediting things for him, or because ESK is demanding to know sooner than later, or because the league is trying to act fast enough to stop him?
One thing for sure, our owner sure stirred the pot.

I really believe the future is what Jerry Jones & Robert Kraft did privately funded stadiums and that's why right now the NFL is pissing me off...Kroenke is willing to build his own stadium, there should be no great debate, but the two stooges need a place to play, but they have no money so IMO...Piss off!

Something will be announced by everyone prior to the owners meetings. The problem for St Louis is that even though they say they're working with the NFL the financing is still historically low. It's currently a little less than 40% for public support for a stadium that the cost hasn't changed since the initial proposal. With all the changes to plan, how has the cost remained the same? If it has then the additional cost will come from the owner making the public portion even less of the percentage. Kroenke would be required to pay for the stadium and not control it. The talking points have stayed the same that the stadium would be a public entity. The other issue is that secrecy could cause major issues in St Louis once all the details are made public like the ticket guarantees did in San Diego. At least the proposal in SD has identified the revenue streams and made most of the details public. Things have change but at least they have had some transparency. It's a risk but in the end it may be the better strategy.

Bubba I absolutely loved your latest post that was a response to a new guy trying to refute your knowledge of the Carson site.

It doesn't take rocket science to figure out why 200 acres of prime real estate next to 2 major freeways has been vacant for over 50 years.

Pure gold and well stated. Something that should be obvious to people but they seem to gloss over.

It's hard to actually know without all of information from St. Louis but I think San Diego's offer is at least as good if not better. I hear a ton of St. Louis fans putting all of their hopes in Stan being forced to stay if Peacock comes up with the shaky financing. Yet those same fans think the Chargers are moving to a toxic waste dump in Carson with an offer on the table.

It just keeps getting clearer and clearer that Inglewood is the best plan and the Rams are the best fit for LA.

Thx OldSchool, it just pisses me off no end the way the Charaiders, the media, the City of Carson and the NFL are misleading the public. I am starting to believe after talking to some of the people that work for the city of Carson, that the mayor, Fabiani and Policy got cold feet when they knew that Carson citizens, such as myself, were intent on asking some hard questions about the Cason site and got cold feet at the town meeting.
They all still refuse to bring out the outlined measures the EPA and the Calif. State Board of Health have laid out before construction can begin, and what's left to complete. I intend to keep bringing it up on all the forums. Their intent is to mislead by making it appear the Carson site is ready to build on. Lying by omission and misleading by innuendo. I'm still convinced that the Carson site is/has been nothing but a leverage ploy.

I don't like being lied to, and I'm calling them out.

They always quote that one article from February and never even bother to read any of the information the City of Carson posts on their website.

There's a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know. I still believe the Rams are playing in LA in 2016. Until they've actually loaded up the U-hauls and moved to LA there will be plenty of articles. blogs, etc that might make it look like maybe it won't happen. But the NFL doesn't want the Rams to be in a lame duck situation where there's no doubt they're moving. There will be fans with protest signs in the stands. Attendance will be down. Just a bad situation altogether. They won't announce anything until the season is either over or almost over.

None of us really knows what's going on but i don't know that there is a debate. I think Snack has it right.

If the NFL knows the Rams are moving to L.A. after 2015, what are they going to do? Announce it now? That doesn't seem very likely.

The play would be to keep telling St. Louis the NFL likes what they're doing and they want to see more. They would also tell SD and OAK that Carson is legit so they better get their act together if they want to keep their teams.

If the Rams are staying in St. Louis, we might hear that sooner rather than later bu if they're leaving, we won't likely hear anything but scary news until December or so.

None of this speculation proves anything but things are going pretty much how you'd expect them to if the Rams are indeed moving.

Along those lines, i doubt we'll get much news (least of all good news) from the August meeting...
