Makes no sense to give up #15, and 2nd rounder this year and first rounder next year. That's way overpaying to move up from 15 to 6.

I thought Vinny knew this. Wonder why he wrote this.

He's better than the other qb's in this class but I don't think he's worth a top pick this year and next years first. I can see the Browns passing on a qb or trading down because no matter who they draft they will still have a top 5 pick next year where they can draft a qb from a potentially better class. That could either increase the cost to trade up because more teams might be willing to move up or it could lessen the need to give up a lot to move up.

My stance is well documented, both Wentz and Goff IMO are immediate starters and contributors at QB. I'm tired of us not having a QB and continually kicking the problem down the road to deal with later. If it takes next years first I'm ok with that. I'd be happy with Lynch at 5 though I think he will have to work his butt off to contribute in 2016.

If they're both available at 5 who would you take?

Between Goff and Wentz and we're on the clock? Wentz his mobility gives him a little edge over Goff in my book.

To 6 yes they'd have to send us back a 4th. To #4 that's about right.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe give this years #1 and #2 but that's it. Remember this is not the #1 pick we are talking about. Didn't we give up a #1 and #2 for TA? Seems like it should be close to that deal.

I'm a Cal alum and watched a lot of his games and I have to say I am not totally sold on him. Not the most mobile guy out there, makes a lot of head scratching mistakes, very frail looking, comes from a "SPREAD OFFENSE" system which always bothers me. That said, he didn't have the best protection and has a great arm.

That was from 16 to 8 and we gave up our 2nd and 7th also. I know people generally don't like this chart but it has proven to be pretty accurate for most NFL draft trades. Next years picks get valued down a round generally.

None of which were considered the "cant miss" type prospect QB that Wentz/Goff are. All of them were reach picks which is where I see Lynch fitting in

This years 1st + 2nd (#47) + next years 2nd (#47 ?) according to the chart is slightly overpaying so I would have to hold firm on that. Don't we have an extra 2 this year?
Goff and Wentz are projected to be the best available this year but that doesn't mean they are going to be great.

This year yes we do. The thing with the chart is the cost can go up if you have multiple bidders IE the Whiners. Or the fact there's a player that the team really likes IE Myles Jack for the Cowboys. Are they going to be convinced to skip drafting Jack by just an average bid to move up?

We can't be cheap on giving up picks. Pull the trigger and do it.

Do we want a franchise QB or not?
