That would be great
I'm over losing JJ but really hate we lost McLeod

At least we signed...
Oh wait, we didn't sign anybody. Never mind

With what they paid Cody Davis, he is our current starter at FS. The longer Weddle and R. Nelson are out there, the lower the price for them should be. I would love either, especially Nelson, for a year or two. He comes from a similar attacking-style defense as well.

Not necessarily...though I see your reasoning on Davis. That is the Davis contract doesn't necessarily mean, in itself, that he is the starter. Though it's clear they wanted him back and that he is a candidate. The cap number in itself may also reflect his value to special teams. It may ALSO also reflect the fact that he got bites in the market, and the Rams did not want to lose one of their in-house FS candidates after losing McCleon.

The candidates and their cap hits for 2016:

Davis: 1.45 M (guesstimated)
Joyner: $1,371,867
Alexander: $716,065
Bryant: $525,000

I believe these guys will field the best starter, of course, and maybe in the end that's Bryant, for all we know now. And I absolutely do not rule out the in-house guys...after all, in 2013 McCleon did not look like he would be who he became in 2015. If these coaches do anything, it';s manufacture DBs.

And of course they could add someone too.

Short version: right now it's probably in flux. 8-)

I can see that. But, I believe Davis was first off the bench for McLeod in the past. Alexander is more a SS/Hybrid almost like Barron but has some speed/quick-twitch skills, Joyner certainly could do it but he is our nickel/slot corner, Bryant - untested. So, I can see your reasoning as well. I just think they paid him pretty well to be a back up/STs guys.
