And while his official assignment is not the Rams, per se, he is still writing articles that are completely about the Rams, so that's all I meant about "covering" the Rams from St. Louis. I agree with everybody that he definitely has the viewpoint of a St. Louis fan on most things related to the move. And he is definitely bitter, but I think that's understandable. Nevertheless, despite all those things, he's been a professional the whole time, and still is. Bernie? Please. And why anybody would actually pay Shane Gray to write any of his drivel is beyond me. But Jim Thomas is a different story. As others have already pointed out, his history with the Rams provides a much more developed base from which to write about the team than any of the L.A. based writers have displayed so far. I think part of his advantage there is that his job with the PD used to be Rams beat writer -- and nothing else. None of the L.A. writers who have written Rams articles is dedicated to the Rams, and that's a problem. I think it would serve Rams' coverage well if the Times brought JT over, for the sake of continuity and depth if nothing else. I just don't see it happening. They'll cover the Rams, they just don't really care how well they do it. Rams Park, where he usually worked from, is being packed up and disassembled right out from under him, yet he's still covering the Los Angeles Rams from St. Louis. Whether you like his style of reporting or not, he's always been a professional. I'm as happy as anybody else that the Rams are back home, but from JT's perspective, this has gotta hurt (professionally, as well as personally). The Times or Daily News should offer him a spot, but that's not going to happen.I disagree with your personal opinion of JT.It sounds like you think I was joking when I made that comment about him covering High School basketball games. I wasn't joking. The day that I made that comment, he tweeted that he was working his first High School basketball game in 25 years (or something like that). He's not still covering the LA Rams. He's said a number of times that his new job is covering the NFL for the PD. Since there's still a lot of interest there in the Rams, he's been more focused on the Rams than other teams. He doesn't have any inside info./knowledge on the LA Rams. by AltiTude Ram 9 years 4 months ago Total posts: 2466 Joined: Jul 09 2015 Denver Pro Bowl Re: PD: Just in time for LA, Rams swimming in salary-cap room By Jim Thomas St. Louis Post-Dispatch 1 hr ago (0) Rams POST #15 Elvis wrote:AltiTude Ram wrote:Not to mention that his meter was broken on Jan 12th.
