The Rams can draft a QB in the first round and afford to sit him for a year and still control his rights for another 4 years. If the Rams can trade up and grab Ward, he can start as a rookie and sign a vet for #2QB. But I don't think McVay wants to play a rookie because his offense is predicated on a Vet who can read and work his progressions quickly.

A big part of working through progressions is film study which is different at the NFL level if done at all in college. That is where having a solid bridge vet QB is a huge advantage.

Again I simply don't see the value in paying Stafford $40-$50M for one year. They will need the carryover cap to begin to extend key players. Jimmy will be the best free agent QB if they allow him to hit the market. Common sense to me is to get the best deal they can for Stafford and return to F'em picks for one year to grab their next franchise QB1 to start in 2026 using Jim as a bridge starter and mentor. He already knows the offense and is well liked in the locker room. They can sign Jim to a 2 year deal with the second year as a contingency or trade year.

So you clearly dont value championships!!!???

Jimmy G is A BACKUP QB and is in no way the best free agent QB. Our window to win is open only if you have top caliber QB. You arent beating Hurts (w Saquon), Allen, Mahomes, Lamar etc etc with Jimmy freaking G.

Sign Stafford and we have a shot, dont sign him and we are Cleveland. High probability that none of these QB's in the 25 draft ever scratch top 10 status.

Stafford is coming back. Rams know they gotta have him back.

324 yds. 2 touchdowns no picks against Philly. One fluke sack away from 2 super bowls for Stafford with the Rams. If we have a good smart off season the Rams can easily win a Super Bowl.

Completely agree. The other issue with going with a young QB is we have a limited time with this defense being severely underpaid. Pay Stafford now and then Staff is done in 1-2 years you start paying the defense. I dont want to lose these defenders.....

He can't be a run stuffer at that weight can he?

New Orleans Saints (2016–2020)
New York Jets (2021–2022)
Houston Texans (2023)
Cincinnati Bengals (2024)

Alot of movement after 1st stint, seems like a bad thing to me, is it? Should Rams be interested?
