One Guy I like and this has Rams pick written all over it. I’m just a maverick like that and I think he’s better than Shedueur Sanders. Best Quarterback in the draft Cade Klubneck

Quarterback Clemson. I love the film on him. I love the tape on him. Big strong Mobile. Big arm. If you coach him up you can have a franchise Quarterback. please look at the tape on him. He can learn from Stafford and then play.

As I've pointed out that next year is an option year in Stafford's contract, i.e. a year in which when they originally drew it up 4 years ago, it was where Matt and the team sit down and talk about an extension.

I think they are rethinking drafting a QB in the first round with the idea of signing Jimmy to a reasonable 2 year deal to be a bridge & mentor.

Stafford is due for a big raise next year to $49.6M way too much to pay for a one year bridge. Jimmy G will cost at most half of that.

Darnold does have some say where he ends up. So do the Ram's trade for him under a franchise contract? To keep him out of SF they might.

Regardless I think the signs point more towards Stafford is getting his final SB run with the Rams this year. IMO I think the Rams have made up their mind to move on from him despite McVay's love for him.

Oy, I personally find these continued Stafford posts based on "air" tiresome. Let's review some facts. Again!

1. What this option year bs? Stafford would have a dead cap hit of $49.33M if they release him before next season. Post June 1 designation? 26.66M dead cap next year and 23M in 2026. Trade him? 45.33M dead cap. Retires? About the same numbers as post June 1 designation, just like Donald who counted $23.8M this year and still has 9.66M on next year's cap.

2. And your alternative for a bridge QB is Jimmy G at half that price? We paid him $3M this year. Why are we giving him a $20M raise to come back?

3. Let me get this straight...Rams are going have at least $26M in cap devoted to Stafford, are going to trade our first round pick (and likely more) for a franchised tagged Donald (dude that has had 1 good year) and give him $40M? Ok, $66M devoted to the QB position and blew our draft capital for a pretty much unproven dude. That would be lunacy and everyone in the front office would be fired for it.

3. Rams have been on the cusp of being a top 3 seed playoff team the last 2 years. We aren't spending a first pick on a development QB. Without a 2nd round pick, highly unlikely they even use a 3rd on QB.

JMHO, but I don't think McVay is a develop a QB guy and the Rams are a develop for the future org. They will deal for someone that can keep the show going. Certainly not next year, though.
