As for most of the positions on D, there's a long list of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year players on D that have some playing experience. They're in the same system they were before and in most cases have the same position coaches.
The D is not a veteran unit with repeat starters at every position (though the offense pretty much IS that). But it's a cut or 2 above being completely green.
