Yeah, Al Michaels pissed me off towards the end. "Tennessee have been beating good teams while the Rams have been beating the bad teams." Asshole. Tennessee beat us in the regular season in 99 too. And we didn't beat any good teams that year either! ;) We got our asses handed to us tonight. Let's see what happens going forward.

You can get off the bus if you want. But you can't get back on a few weeks from now. Well, sure, you can. But you gotta sit next to rest room!!!

Michael's has a short term memory. Our last 3 opponents weren't exactly stout but we smoked them. the others were good teams.
We lost to a good team tonight. We'll bounce back.

I think you need to make a distinction about which Ram unit got their asses handed to them.

The Ram D stats were pretty stellar....forced 5 Titan punts, 2.7 YPC rushing allowed, and Tannehill's 5.3 YPA on 19/27 (with 3 sacks suffered) and yeilded a paltry 125 net yards passing per ESPN. So AD, Jalen & Co. did NOT get their asses handed to them......B-U-T...

Brian Turnstile Allen and the Rams OL had their asses handed to them by TENN on those 5 Titan sacks and 11 QB hits. :oops2: :arrow2: :?

No doubt the line pressure (especially with only 4 guys) was the difference..

And the lack of adjustments. But let's be totally honest here. Sure, the O line would probably like to forget this game, but there were some plays where Stafford was sacked when he couldn't pull the trigger because of coverage. Not all those sacks were on the O line. I find it totally off that they could play well for 8 games and forget how to block. Vrabel & Co. came into this game with a good plan on defense and executed it almost perfectly. The first pick was because of pressure AND a very poor decision by a vet QB. The second pick wasn't because of pressure. It was because they disguised their coverage. If we could have made some adjustments, rolled him out juuuust a little earlier, it might have been different.

All plausible stuff I guess....
but I strongly disagree that Los Ramos Defense "got their asses handed to them" tonight.

It was disappointing about the penalty yardage our D uncharacteristically rang up, but alot of those came on the Titans final drive (and was disappointing to be sure)....but it was born of frustration, and also some ticky-tacky zebra calls IMO....
....plus the game was already lost by that point.

Our 2021 D is stellar, and hopefully will be even better with Von Miller's insertion.
Our 2021 OL remains a concern to this old Rams fan. EG. Depth & Consistency. :idea2: :arrow2: :(

Hell no the defense didn't get their asses handed to them. But they committed a number of 15 yard penalties (5). We should have had the ball at the 50 when Ramsey picked it but he had to be an idiot and get 15 yards. He taunted later for another 15. And Obo got 15. Deayon got 15. And Donald got a bogus 15. And a 5 yarder. So they held Tennessee to 194 yards and gave them 65 (80 thanks to some bad officiating). Not good.

"Uncharacteristic"? Just like the OL performance tonight was "uncharacteristic"?

Hey Sportster!

Twenty years....IE. TWO DECADES prior to the 1999 Los Ramos 13-3 entry into SB XXXIV...

there was Rams Squad led by HC Ray Malavasi, with a suffocating D led by guys named Youngblood, Dryer, Hacksaw and Cromwell.........and an uber-green QB named Vince Ferragamo, who had rung-up a 48% Completion Rate in parts of eight 1979 games, 53 of 110 for 778 yds, 7.1 YPA, 5 TDs and 10 Picks. :shock2: :arrow2: :o

Point is, that that 1979 Rams Team ended the Regular Season "getting bit 7 times" and ended up at 9-7.....
yet I saw from halfway up the RoseBowl that January Sunday in 1980.....that they were leading the media-darling Pittsburgh Steelers in SB XIV in the 4th Quarter 19-17. :idea2:

So, I am VERY confident that we will make the 2021 NFL Playoffs...
...AND THEN TRULY (& HISTORICALLY) ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, TO BE SURE! :idea2:

BUT.....the fact remains that tonight's loss occurred because our IOL shit the bed versus the Titans D. Period. Full Stop. :idea2:

Fans like this are NOT R4L - quite the opposite. For real is actually loving your team. I cannot and will not ever understand fans who ONLY like a team if they win. You are a weak fan. Disgusting.

This isn't a "fuck you" kind of post. He's frustrated watching a really talented team underachieve. If you aren't then maybe your heart isn't all in. I'm definitely not walking out on the best Ram team in a long time but I'm now questioning whether or not their brand of football gets to the end. Time will tell. They were already humiliated against their most formidable division rival and now this. How many times does a team need to get humiliated before they grow a pair?
