I think Stafford is a major upgrade over Goff.

Goff looked really good with a healthy Gurley. When Gurley went bad so did Goff.

The one outlier game for Goff was the Saints playoff game in 2018 when he played lights out in the 2nd half. Other than that he was average to below average.

Stafford is above average to very good. He’s not elite, but all that matters now is how he plays in the playoffs. That will tell the story of how good the trade was.

You three all make great points.

While Stafford is a huge upgrade, he is prone to bonehead throws probably created by bonehead decisions. So as a 12 year vet how is that correctable? I suppose it's not correctable. So....what about the playoffs? I guess we're gonna have to just have some fortuitous luck? Or the defense is going to have to be good enough to compensate for dumb shit?

Brad Holmes the Lion GM was on the 2016 Ram Scout Team that vetted Jared Goff and ultimately made Goff our #1 overall pick.

The 2021 Los Ramos were very very fortunate that:
-Holmes landed that top Detroit GM job;
-and that he was still in love with the young Jared Goff (& his ceiling, I guess?? :? );
-and that the Ford widow was senile enough to let Holmes talk her into paying like $50 Million (or whatever) for that second Rams 2023 First Round Pick.....
because losing THAT chunk of the 2021 Goff Salary Cap burden helped Los Ramos out immensely!!!!! :idea2: Not to mention clawing back that $50 Million into Stan Kroenke's bank account. 8-) D'yall think maybe the grateful Kroenke rewarded Demoff, Snead & Co. with something more than a 6 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon for pulling off that Goff Salary Cap Unloading coup!!! ;) I sure am guessing so!!!

....and then just the 2021 NFL results speak for themselves.....ie. Los Ramos under Stafford control their winning the toughest Division in the NFL.....
....and on the shores of murky Lake St.Clair, the Detroit Lions under Jared Goff's quarterbacking prowess got their first win of 2021.........
IN FOOKING DECEMBER!!!! :o :arrow2: :oops2:

Regular Season Win Number 1, in December. :shock2: :arrow2: :( Shades of the 3-13 Spagnuoloville Days in Smolensk On The Mississippi.....
only in Motown....with Goff doing his best Sam LameYPA Bradford impersonation. :idea2:

IMO, the phrases
"the Brad Holmes trade for Jared Goff".....AND,
"genius masterstroke executive move"
will never ever be in the same sentence this decade. :idea2: :arrow2: :P

I just saw the Cowherd "The Rams Stole Him" piece....

IMO, Cowherd was basically chortling at the Lions....and lauding Stafford's stats and moreover McSnead's talent-evaluation skills. :idea2:

Chuck SnakeBitInPlayoffs Knox always had:
-tough-as-nails D;
-dominating OL & strong running game;
-capable WRs...eg.Harold Jackson, Ron Jessie et al....

BUT KNOX NEVER HAD THAT MISSING-PIECE ...THAT WINNER QB TO GET HIS TALENT-LADEN TEAMS TO LOMBARDIVILLE!!! :( :arrow2: :cry2:

HOPEFULLY STAFFORD IS McVAY's MISSING PIECE!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:
